Erm this might go against the OP's argument....but is the Burnley game being shown on the concourses?
It doesn't matter does it, since it's after our game?

It`s actually very little to do with Derby. It`s about having more points or same points and a better goal difference than either Burnley or Boro come evening of May 7th..

Losing by 1 the smallest margin. If Boro win their match at Birmingham by 1 goal the goal difference will be +29 / +34. So a 3-0 win for the Albion would be required to go up on goal difference.

This is why I'm saying Monday is must win, forget about the Boro game until after Monday.

I have Boro with goal difference of +32 at present. Lose 1-0 to Derby and win 2-0 atBoro would leave us both with +31, assuming like you that Boro beat Brum 1-0. We would then go up by virtue of goals scored.

Not too concerned about derby. If boro draw on Friday it will be important to beat them though.

Derby's away record is good but not spectacular they've drawn or lost 13 out of 22 away games. Frankly there is no excuse for us not to get at least a point on Monday.

We have also drawn or lost 13 of our away games and our away form is superb!

People are going a bit mental with the pressure aren't they? A level headed look at the table shows that in the scenario where Boro beat Brum, the Derby game is either a must draw, or must spank Derby enough to finish level on GD and above them on goals scored. A 1 goal win is only needed if Boro drop points v Brum.

Are some people seriously advocating going for an all out spanking of Derby leaving us vulnerable to swift counter attacks and a loss?

It'll be interesting to see what CH does if Boro beat Brum by a goal but we're 2-0 up v Derby. In this case I'd say go all out for the 3rd, and if they peg one back then shut up shop, try and keep the win but know that it doesn't even matter if they pull back to draw.

Thankfully CH is focused on two wins nothing more nothing less. It's great fun speculating & playing out scenarios though.

Well after the low point of Millwall at home live on sky last season to be where we are today is nothing short of a miracle IMHO so let's have faith in Chris to do the right thing.

I'm now officially getting carried away and enjoying this promotion while it happens.
