Irrespective of the weather, last Summer was SUPERB and easily the best I've known.

I was camping in the Scouts in summer '76, and the leader said we could pack up the night before we left (only leaving our tents up obv!), or do it in the morning. We chose to do it in the morning, and of course the weather broke and it pissed hard

Hot weather is for morons. Seriously, what is the appeal of it being 25 degrees, so that you can just sit outside and do bugger all? It's pointless. The ultimate weather conditions are about 12 degrees, mild, a little cloud cover and no rain.
