Yeah brilliant thread well done...

Why sing when we are are the relegation zone and 1 down? The team hasn't given the crowed anything to sing about all season.

We were louder in the early years at Withdean, so you can't really blame the stadium.

getting us to singing is a two way thing and they way they have played at home this season, and the way we played in the first half WHAT do u expect! we try 2 get behind the team, but its is cold, wet and expensive to go and watch.

When we're one down we should all be getting behind the team - simple as that!!

In rehab
Singing section had large number of empty seats yesterday. Probably didn't help.
The singing section is wank. They don't sing but spend most of there time moaning at stewards. It's a horrible area to watch a match.

While I cant neccessarily disagree with the second half of your post the first bit suggests you only get behind the team when we're doing well!!

Kinda sums up what I'm saying, dontcha think!!

We are and have the worst home support in the entire football league I'm afraid. All sorts of reasons (and I'm no better than anyone else here) but the problem I keep coming back to is that when we want to - i.e: after a poor ref's decision, after a goal, bad tackle etc - we can get Withdean rocking. So it is possible and really the quality of football is no excuse - we have to be that 12th man from the first whistle and keep going even if we go one down. We are not helping the team at home but I'm out of ideas as to how we find a solution short of something radical like a "sit where you like" area. This is something we have to address for Falmer.

If I was a player I would hate to play in front of the morons that come to Withdean. Every time someone slows down play or turns and passes it square or backwards, the groans and abuse are embarrassing. It's like the majority of people there don't understand how to play football.

Yes. good idea initially by the club but the section has become a joke with the types that sit there. Better atmosphere in other parts of the ground these days.

As for getting behind the team, at 1 - 0 down the fans were about as up for it as the players. Thought the crowd was better once we equalised but the team then went gash again for 20 mins.....it is a 2 way thing.

High up on the South Downs.
Being serious, if the club created a Whinge Wing for all of those who want to abuse individual players it would help. The rest of us would start to lose our inhibitions and get behind the players vocally, the team would then play with a bit more energy in the first half and the Withdean experience would improve no end.
Italian style loud speakers would also help.
