Redhead said:Kids for a quid would be less effective so gates would be down, League 1 is a competitive League, we wouldn' get back out without spending money, which we're lead to believe we don't have. Going down would be a disaster, which is why MM is trying to keep us up. If going down doesn't matter shall we just not play any more games this season save on appearance fees and (god forebid) goal bonuses or clean sheet bonuses.
I'm not saying it doesn't matter, or that we should not bother to try to stay up. of course it would be better if we stayed up. However, if we were up the top of League one and actually winning some games, the kids for a quid etc would be just as effective. In fact I seem to remember the club doing this against Cardiff at the Goldstone in the 3rd division and getting eight thousand or so.
What I think is the worst possible scenario, is if we stay in the Chamionship for the next two or three years, struggling all the time, and then get relegated the season before the first season at Falmer. We wouldn't sell nearly as many season tickets as we would if we'd spent a couple of seasons in League 1, and then got promoted going into the frst season at Falmer.
It's doesn't matter anyway because we staying up this year
