Drive by abusing
I spoke to my girlfriend who was the woman who apologised & is a completely independent witness (She's even a Reading supporter )

According to her there had been abuse towards WW & co all game threats to punch him etc
It was then hightened when they were mocking the chants of champions by our fans.
She turned around & saw TCB with his hand round the kids throat after an exchange of verbals between him & one of the kids.
She didn't see anyone spitting but did see WW wiping flob off his coat.

She said she was sorry to them after the game for having to put up with that.

Sounds like this little shits needed a good kicking. Well done TCB for not acctually going that far!

Some people need to realise that a Football match is not the school playground and if they want to start abusing other people then they have to accept their response!

If they're doing this to fellow fans they should be banned.

Agreed. Very hard to do though as I dont believe the stewards/police were involved?

Are those doing the abuse away regulars or did TCB or WW not know them? Just wondering how they targeted WW for this attack.

thats pretty much what i saw happen as well - although i wasnt actually aware that there had been threats all game, i thought it was just the wanker chants and spitting that sent things over the edge

with regards to the champions chants, i dont think it was so much mocking of it but more a "f***ing hell, its only october" reaction. but obviously if these little pricks decided that they were looking for trouble from the outset with no provoking, then that would have have reaffirmed their positions

top marks to your girlfriend though for appologising for people she didnt even know - it just goes to show what an embarassment those kids were, even if certain people (or should that be person) on here seem determined to be looking for a way to pin the blame on withdean wanderer and the complete badger in the name of "finding out the facts"

hopefully that can draw a line under this whole sorry affair, and those kids have learnt their lesson and wont find themselves being on the end of another incident like this because of their immaturity - especially as next time they might not get off so lightly

i am a little confused as to where you see the contradiction. if you are the devils advocate as you cliam, then you need to take opposing or directly contradictory stances, rather than simply not feeling as strongly about something, or agreeing to a certain extent.

Tyrone is seemingly taking the same stance as me: there are worse things than spitting.

You're telling him there's no point in him trying to discuss such a thing, because there's a different attitude amongst Brits.

(In this instance, it is my actual opinion, not Devil's advocate)

no i am not saying there is a different attitude amongst brits (as opposed to who? I stated that I was surprised that an Australian attitude would differ significantly from the prevailing British one, not quite the same thing). I am saying that this is in my opinion the view of most Brits. And having a slight dig at continentals. My post implies I dont know what the aussie view is as a rule, just i would be surprised if was much different bearing in mind the cultural similarities.

I was suggesting to him that the vast majority of British blokes would find a smack in the mouth much more acceptable in a dispute than spitting at their opponent. I fail to see how anyone can disagree that thats the majority view, even if it isnt their own. Even if I dont have any proof to back it up.

We can go round in circles all day having pointless discussions about whether its more dangerous or not, or if personally you take a contrary view, but it doesnt stop it being the consensus on here, or in our culture. Thats my point, not whether its less lethal or if other people disagree with me. Of course there are worse things than spitting, when people start trotting out nonsense like well he could have chainsawed him to death thats worse than spitting, then they are just trolling or not really up for the debate.

But given the bullshit posted by these two it would be helpful if someone could confirm the spitting incident took place and wasn't just made up to defend a grown man grabbing a youth by the throat which so far appears to be the only thing seen by an independent witness.

There's not enough grabbing of youths' throats by grown men in this world. Streets be a lot safer if it happened more often. Any spotty oink getting a slap for being a twat is fine by me. If it were allowed in schools today then perhaps this incident would have been avoided because he'd have learnt a long time ago to respect your elders a bit more. Hopefully he's learnt a lesson. Justice served. Twat is less of a twat in all likelihood. And that's a good thing :)

Fair play to TCB for sticking up for his mate and not standing for what is arguably one of the most disgusting things you can do to fellow human being.

I hope the people who did this appreciate that they got away with it lightly, one of these days these mouthy little shits will undoubtedly upset the wrong person and take the kick in of their lives.

And hopefully never get up again. Precisely these little charmers who vandalise your neighbourhood, cause nothing but grief and expense to tax payers like you and I. Far too many takers not putting into the pot. Probably used their benefit to attend the match. Scum. Utter scum. Put 'em down at birth and stop these chavs breeding more trouble. Quite literally.

Sorry, I must have mis-read. I have a bit of a cold at the moment, so am not totally focused.

Although spitting is completely wrong and disgusting act, if TCB & WW didn't act like complete bellends fishing to wind people up, they would not draw this kind of attention.

Maybe they should think about how they act online and not draw attention to themselves

Watch out, I said something similar about 10 pages ago and wasn't popular. Brace yourself.
