Nearly as aweful as the little girl in school who always puts her hand up when she needs to go for a wee wee.

Trouble is, the piss still escapes through her fingers.

Funny? Not really .....

That is as ironic as the Alanis Morrisette song which contained lyrics, none of which were ironic as she claimed they were.

'Rain, on your wedding day'. Not ironic. Unfortunate yes. Would be ironic if she switched dates of the wedding becaus the forecast said it would rain on the planned one and be dry on the revised date, only for the original one to be fine and the rearranged one to piss down.

Perhaps the irony of that song was that it was not ironic.

Hmm frimleygreenshotspur, I think you'd better check the meaning of the word 'irony'. I'll give you a clue - it's not what mummy does with the washing.

i was not defining irony..as was using it as a link..get it?..had i wished to describe a literary or linguistic device i would have entitled the post "ironic"...thus alluding to its content..there is a subtle difference...that is the beauty of the english language..

Frimmers! What on god's earth are you doing on here!?

(says a man who doesn't really have a reason to be on here).

frimmers is around and about on a lot of quality boards...trial and error mainly...but he does gravitate towards fans of the beautiful game in preference to those of the "wewalkonwater@intermanure.co.uk..and there is good reasoned debate here on arts, politics and social issues..and footy......you?

Hmm. I would suggest you use a more appropriate linguistic device in future as opposed to one that was just misleading. But keep doing it, we LOVE a good grammar/useage/spelling debate here.

I gravitative towards anything that means I don't have to think hard about complicated issues. Hence HNA and NSC do it for me...
