Worthing
Should be noted that the IRA only started getting concessions when they got round the negotiating table.

This is fantastic news. I really admire how the British and Irish governents are managing to keep the peace process going despite the mistrust and intransigence on all sides. I'm trying to imagine how you keep your patience with the likes of Adams and Paisley, it must be a nightmare.

Can everyone stop singing the 'no surrender' song now ?

I always wondered about that - surrender to WHO? Less than half the population of NI want a United Ireland, less than half the population of the Republic want a United Ireland.... I for one would prefer NI and its huge policing bills to not be a burden on my country, thanks.

I'm afraid I've got bad news for Strike - a far more terrible organisation than the IRA will be the one to end up uniting the land of my fathers - The European Union :drink: :drink: :drink:

Did I also mention I don't like the EU? Different reasons, though...

I would say this was great but as previously posted they have no impact now.

Sadly there is nothing the IRA can do that would shock now given the global terrorism issue with suicidal bombers.

Think of it like football - IRA now Championship recently relegated.

I suppose it is a way of saving face but let's be honest bar those in Belfast the IRA means precious little now.

Whatever your stance re: the IRA - terrorism always wins in which ever guise sadly

Now what are the chances of Paisley finding fault with their statement? He is determined to carry it on, without the conflict there is no need for him and he knows it.

He already has! (on the news tonight)

That man will never want peace! As you say, it's his raison detre.

(I do not sympathise with Adams by the way).
