So - from reading the above, it looks like I will have no chance of seeing Brighton next year.

I live in Leeds, and have always gone to around 70% of the away games and 2 or 3 home games each season. Now, because of the way the fixtures have fallen, the first away game I would have wanted to go to is Cardiff - according to the above, i've got no hope at all.

I appreciate that fans like me aren't a priority for the club any more, but it's still a shame that i'm going to have to try and sneak into home ends of away games to even have a small chance of seeing them play...

I'm sorry, but that really is complete rubbish.
Do you honestly believe we are going to completely sell out every away allocation at every Championship club this coming season ?? How have you arrived at that conclusion ?

And although a few may sell out (Pompey and maybe 2 or 3 others) Cardiff will 100% not be one that sells out

You think you won't be able to get tickets for Cardiff away? We will take 600 tops to that one. You will get to see exactly what you have been seeing as long as you are a bit more organised for home matches.

I see no reason why not. Quick figures - 6,000 regular home fans at Withdean, 19,000 season tickets at AMEX - therefore over 300% increase in fans this season. If this is factored down into away games, we'll be taking 3 times as many fans away as we did last year. I can't think of any away games where we only took up a third of our allocation - therefore a sellout each time.

Simple really.

Do you really think the number of home fans we will get next season is going to proportionally increase the number of away fans?

Really?

People shouldn't complain about a game that sells out slowly. Even when that happens, it's usually the case that pretty much anyone who wants to go has had a chance to get a ticket. The "disappointed" ones will usually be limited to those who had the opportunity, but simply moved too slowly.

It won't stop them wanting to blame someone else, of course.

Cool, we are going to be one of the best supported clubs in the country then.

If anything we'll have less going to away games compared to last season. 13,000 more people have committed to a home season ticket, and the time & expenses that takes, many are likely to go to less away games.

Simple - and completely and utterly FLAWED.

Just because we can now pack 19,000 home fans into the Amex, does not follow that our away support will instantly triple ! Whats been stopping all these additional fans we're going to get from going to the away games these last few seasons ?

Because they're all JCL fans that we've nicked from Tottenham, Chelsea, Arsenal etc. and they've been going to that teams away games up 'til now?

If anything our away following may actually FALL.
I tended to go to more away games simply because it was usually better than the Withdean experience. I've now got an Amex season ticket so will probably go to less away games.

I feel that this is pretty much spot on. Nearly all the new STH I know have attended loads of away games since we have been at Withdean, five of them live in Birmingham or further north. Just by attending home games they will be using up their footbal money.

Comment from Insider on Ask the Club:

"Full scheme details to be announced early next week, but in answer to your question it depends on whether they were Withdean STHs last season. 1901 Club members who were STHs at Withdean will begin with the highest priority, followed by Amex STHs who were STHs at Withdean, then 1901 Club members, then new Amex STHs and so on... with those who travel away regularly getting additional bonus points. Probably best to wait until it's officially announced before deliberating over the ins and outs and coming back with more questions etc. "

I cant believe that this system will be incorporated. In a hypothetical situation if the full allocation at Portsmouth and Cardiff were taken up by Withdean STH it would then create an elite list that nobody could possibly enter until somebody failed to buy a ticket for a game or we played at a ground with a a very large away capacity. Even then the games would be few and far between so supporters couldnt accumulate enough points to buy tickets for prestige away games should it happen. There must be many supporters who went to nearly every away game last season but didnt go to Withdean for whatever reason.

The "Withdean preferential factor" must be filtered out at some point - it's just a matter of when which we'll find out soon enough.

Away ticket priority

So potentially the scheme could start with :
1901 + WD STH allocated 1000 loyalty points
Amex STH + WD STH allocated 800 points
1901 JCL allocated 750 points
Amex STH allocated 500 points
Non STH allocated 0 points
5 loyalty points for away games booked online via our website.

The problem for popular away games is that 1901ers and longstanding STH's that dont travel away buy tickets for their mates. West Ham , Portsmouth , Southampton and Palace should sellout easily but not neccessarily to the regulars as JCLs have snapped up part of the allocation.

Let's move this binfest on a bit ...

Should people who manage to get a ticket for Pompey be rewarded with more loyalty points? Or should loyalty points for away games only be awarded for undersubscribed games? After all, those who get a ticket to the Pompey match have already received their reward.

Only asking.

isn't this what alot of clubs do in terms of bands , i.e Middlesborough away would gain more loyalty points then going to Southampton away
