Hürzeler took a bunch of new and young recruits to our second highest ever league position. A great debut season for him.

Onwards and upwards.

8th is brilliant. I don’t rate the manager and the first half showed that today for me. But will always support the team and manager. Good season.
Christ almighty 🤣🤦‍♂️ who do you hold responsible for our brilliant 8th place finish then? The very young, injury ravaged squad did it all by themselves?

In response to the op, yes, excellent season all things considered. What a job Fab has done considering so many injuries and a wafer thin back line. Can't wait to see what next season brings.

We really need to sort out wtf is going on with our never-ending injury crisis, though.

I think folk can forget that for every might or should have been, the fans of all the other clubs will have one too. Once those are set aside, 8th place is a decent finish.

After we went on the losing run after going out the fa cup, Europe was out the question. Since then the best we could hope for was being best of the rest. And we achieved that.

I’m happy, Hürzeler has had a good first season, and we’ve got a lot of exciting talent.

I just want Buonanotte back now, please.

2nd best season ever. Found some more gems.

Some funny things on the last day.

Forest only get conference league is quite amusing. Will the owner try to get palace banned from Europa?

Villa miss champions league due to horrible ref decision and that clown Martinez getting a red.

Spurs only 38 points is absolutely comical.

We needed 5 more points to take 7th. That's quite a gap. The big regret is we did so well against the big clubs, we blew it at home to the bottom half clubs.

On the plus side, nice to see a big gap between us and 9th, and also one of our strongest finishes to a Prem season.

I wouldn't describe the feeling as happy, but realistically content. I'm optimistic for next year and our chances of getting back into Europe. The problem is losing players because we are not in Europe.

I think 8th is a great achievement by FH, given all the changes in the squad. Disappointed not to have made Europe, but we really are in a superb position going in to next season.

I get there is a lot of ‘what could have been’ but at the end of the day 4 of the big 6 have finished in the top 4. That is down to the consistency of having a massive squad of world class players, which we do not have.

...and lose to some above. Ces't la vie.
I wonder if @HangletonGull also subscribes to the 'less tax, more money for the NHS' mantra
of Badenough and Farage.
OK Fazza wants to sell the NHS to the highest bidder, but that would be Grrrrreat, though. Innit.

I love a perpetual motion machine.
All it needs to start and work forever is a bit of good old fashioned hubris.

Winning trebles every year is simple, if only the club would listen to the cleverer supporters ???

Next season could be season defining...
Let's ask @Tom Hark Preston Park whether he has any feelings about it.....
and @Beach Hut if he's excited at all.

Meanwhile @jcdenton08 is looking forward to an exciting season in the Championship
Massive derbies against Leeds, Bumley, Carduff and Luton.
And the return of PotG.
It will be emotional.

Again posted my thoughts and an updated poll on the Fabian Hürzeler thread so just to say, yes, happy.

Bittersweet - only losing 9 games in the EPL was very good. Two of them to Palace tho

Keep Mitoma and no big losses except JP and then I’ll be a very happy bunny come August

Given the nature of this season and number of injuries and changes 8th really is an incredible achievement. So many of our young players have come on miles and we still have some of our big summer signings coming back over this summer which will feel like new additions.

Plenty to be positive about, now onto a short break ahead of a summer of endless transfer speculation, new kit binfest and headloss when mitoma leaves
