Just pointing out that this is the only arena in which I can claim to be in the know. If I post on here that a future Albionite is passing through the airport, you may consider it a done deal.

That said. We all knew this one was happening, didn't we? :ROFLMAO:
Well, all you knew is that the player may be singing for a team in the SE. If you worked at Gatwick, now.....???

;)

I would like to think that everybody was sick and tired of it, and had decided never to play ut again. I can dream .......................
Can it, proto-boomer.

There was an interview a while back where RDZ said that he had never come across a recruitment method like the one we were using, but he was so impressed by it, he let his recruitment specialist that he bought in with him go.

So

An 'RDZ pick' doesn't exist. He tells the recruitment team the position/skills he is seeking and they come up with a shortlist for him to review and then he's part of the team that decides who they go after, same as for the last few years. As RDZ frequently says "I am coach, no?"
Is that what he says? To be honest every time I see the little tufty hair italian, I turn in to this

Trust me. I knew he was heading our way.
😀
You asked him (and he smiled), didn't you.

Você vai jogar pelo Brighton, seu homem tatuado com belos músculos?

To all of you saying the EPL's diving cheats will have a field day with the big man, are you therefore suggesting there's no diving in Italian football?

A pedant writes:

-Enciso is a Spanish speaker therefore his name is pronounced "Hulio" (to an English speaker).

-Igor is a Portuguese speaker, so the first letter of Julio is more of a soft J, like the middle bit of "vision", for example. Just as Jose Mourinho is "zho-zay" rather than "ho-zay".

I'm still looking forward to an entire season of people (not limited to Warren Aspinall) referring to "Igor Hulio" though.
Thanks, I’ve lost 4 likes from the after timers following the introduction of your facts

Dahoud is definitely his recommendation as he wanted to sign him at Sassuolo. He did want a striker that has recently signed for Lazio and apparently the numbers didn’t align with the recruitment department so I think it might be a bit of both.

I'll repeat. RDZ has bought in completely to the Albion recruitment model, even to the extent of letting his 'head of recruitment', Salvatore Monaco, that he bought in with him, go back to another team in Italy. He has been a coach in Europe for 10 years now so we really shouldn't be surprised if the Albion recruitment model comes up with players he has knowledge of, like Dahoud.

I'd be genuinely interested to know where this 'he wanted a striker that the recruitment team didn't' as since TB has taken over that sort of information hasn't come out of the club at all despite all the 'contacts' that various members of NSC have.

So I'll repeat and then let it go. There is no such thing as 'an RDZ pick' and it's not 'a bit of both'. RDZ works within the same process that has been studiously put together and proven over the last few years, exactly as he said in his interview. Sorry

Both of you writing like you genuinely have inside info, so which is it?
(The likely answer is RDZ will have some input but we aren't just going to sign players on his whim)

So that’s an updated magnificent 7 of 2 x Brazil, 2 x Ecuador, 1 Paraguay,1 x Argentina, 1x Columbia in current squad for our South American cohort
Only Chile, Bolivia, Uruguay, Peru, Venezuela to go then. There, all done without even looking at a map. :drink:

P.S. Guyana, Suriname and French Guiana don’t count!

Chile - Gonzalo Jara (loan player under Gus Poyet in the first season at the Amex).

Looking at pictures of Igor is giving me a slight feeling of inadequacy. I think it's the huge thighs. Couldn't we have signed Anthony Gordon instead.
