Was the 'little woman' making his breakfast and ironing his shirt while her man came to this decision to financially save the family single-handedly from the poverty trap? Maybe his kids are capable of forging their own careers and supporting themselves too. You never know.

You're weird. Like I said, she will have a big say in his decision. So your implied misogynistic comment is ridiculous.

I would be concerned how a few pissed of multi millionaire superstars would react to me when things were going badly.

He hasn’t ever encountered that situation has he?

I’ll go out on a limb and suggest that will be his undoing at Chelsea rather than a falling out with owners and fans

He really is going to find a very very different challenge to what he has encountered so far.

Being a reasonable and thoughtful man I reckon he’ll find it very difficult when things go wrong..which they will

Player egos (starting with Aubameyang)………….and if he thinks a handful of ours booing was grim, wait till he sees that lot up there react if he goes on a losing streak.

Best of luck seeking a post-1970s narrative from that conversation. To engage you need to think about how the average Brit approached life 'pre Common Market'

More passive aggression from the board's most spiteful stalker. Very odd little old man trying to be an Internet bully.:lolol:

Look at Potters career - when he was managing a university football team do you think he ever thought he’d be managing in the premier league ?

Potter is a guy that backs himself to perform, he doesn’t worry about ‘what ifs’

Especially when we booed him, calls for him to be sacked etc any way

It is a very good question, I am happy in my current job and have been approached about positions which would almost double my salary, but at the moment I am turning them down as my happiness and job security is more important.. But, that isnt to say if a really excellent offer came along, I wouldnt consider it. So, I guess it would come down to what the other company would offer and how I would see myself there.

Of course he does and he's done brilliantly. he does worry though, his reaction to the booing was understandable imo but it did show a chink in his supposed calm facade. I will be interested to see how the morons who can't see what he brings to a team and don't even want him at Chelsea react when things go badly and how he responds to howls of derision and abuse. Not sure he ever got that here

He got plenty of it during our bad spells of form, so really no different.

Yep heard plenty giving him shit in the west stand.

Potter doesn’t go in thinking ‘oh what if I don’t do well’ - he’ll be thinking what a great opportunity this is

Tuchel lasted 18 days longer than lampard. One that potter should be aware of really. Hope he is

Or - he should be aware that Todd Boehly has had the same head coach in at LA Dodgers for 6 years now.

What Roman did has no bearing on the new owners

I am not arguing in any way that he believes in and backs himself. He would not be accepting a job at a club that has a history of not backing managers during a bad spell if he doubted himself.

The Telegraph, which seems to have been leading with this story throughout, paints a different view...

Tuchel made it clear that he did not enjoy the extra responsibility he was given in the transfer window after Boehly and Clearlake handed him more power and a greater say on Chelsea’s business.

Source > https://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2022/09/07/thomas-tuchel-sacked-chelsea-owner-todd-boehly/

Seems bizarre, taking issue with having a say on who you manage / rely on to win games?

I think it’s more likely TT didn’t like “Todd’s players”

Sky news just had footage of Potter and Billy arriving at the Albion training ground.

Their take was to say goodbye.

They’re gone then. On a normal day they wouldn’t turn up together
