How many of the current squad (Inc loanees) would be good enough to either be a 1st teamer, squad player or not good enough to play at this level. My thoughts are:

Kuczczak - First Teamer
Bruno - Squad player
Upson - Squad player
El-Abd - Squad Player
Bridge - First Teamer
Bridcutt - First Teamer
Hammond - Not good enough
Orlandi - Squad player
Vicente - First Teamer
Dicker - Not good enough
Crofts - Not good enough
Buckley - Squad player
Lua Lua - Not good enough
Lopez - First Teamer
Ulloa - Squad player
CMS - Not good enough
Barnes - Squad player
Hoskins - Not good enough
Dobbie - Not good enough
JFC - Squad player (development)
Ankergren - Not good enough
Brezovan - Not good enough
Calderon - Squad player
Dunk - Squad player

Quite an eye opener that only 5 of the current squad in my opinion are good enough to be 1st teamers in the Prem.

Shows the gulf between the 2 divisions.

It shows your opinion of the gulf. We'll see when we get there!

Who else is good enough to command a first team spot in the Prem in your opinion Bakero?

Upson would be good enough, i think dunk will be too, bruno could hack it if not set it alight. I think buckley and orlandi could do a job and who knows about ulloa. So potentially 10. Kll is still developing, sign 5 players and thats a first team squad squad of 16

Funny I was thinking about this the other day. I would actually agree with your most of your list with the exception of:

Ulloa - will be fine and Prem may suit him more.
KLL - Squad
Upson - First team and will be more an asset with a pre-season behind him.
Buckley - ok
Dunk - not good enough.

Maybe I didn't entirely agree! - Good thread though.

All of them!pocket the money and set for a generation, plus we would not get relegated with this team in the premiership. trust me

Was having the same conversation after the match.

Think the OP is about right. Also to include Orlandi.

Reckon we will need to add a minimum of 5 players, who will be first teamers & spend at least £15-£20 million. Could sell some fringe players, perhaps get up to £5m.

Worth the gamble Mr Bloom?

Had this conversation during the second half punt-fest and came to a conclusion that Bridcutt and Kuczczak are the only (not on loan) squad members who are PL quality now, with Orlandi, Buckley and Vicente (maybe Lopez) all being likely to be able to make the step up. Beyond that...well, who knows? Ulloa might be good enough but far too soon to say, Upson and Bridge would be fine but they'd still need to be here...

'Step up' Vicente??? I don't recall a more ludicrous post ever on NSC

Really surprised Swansea let Orlandi go, he'd do we'll in the Prem. Maybe we would keep Vicente if we got promoted, he would storm the premiership.

Funnily enough, we were talking about this on the way back. Almost the same as you but think Buckley, Lua Lua, Orlandi & Ulloa would all be given a chance to prove themselves. Upson I'm sure would be fine. There's no way we're ever going to match up player by player to any of the top 6/8 sides so have to compare against the others and I think most of these can stand up against their players. Would need at least 6 very good signings either way to show any kind of decent squad depth with centre midfield (apart from Bridcutt) being the key.

If this squad/team is good enough for promotion, the vast majority should and almost certainly will be given the chance to see what they can do in the PL. You cannot change too many players as it would take them ages to get used to how we play.

We have a big squad atm. I think we would need, providing we keep Bridge and Upson.1 CB.1 RB, 1 CM and two CF. Five quality players would be enough for us to be more than safe. Offset that by getting rid of Brezovan, Greer, Dicker, Barnes, Dobbie, Harley, Painter, Hammond.

Oh come now, there are far more ludicrous than that! Point taken though, in terms of ability then yeah, he'd probably be the most comfortable of the lot, just wonder whether he'd be able to cope with step up in pace and (the almost inevitably) less time on the ball, two things that wouldn't change Bridcutt or Kuczczak's game an awful lot.

Premier League has better players, who are fitter, faster, stronger, more skilful and more clinical. However I think you can in many games actually get a little more time on the ball, not less, which would help the likes of Vicente hugely.

My take on our squad (including Greer, who for some reason was left off the OP's list):

Kuczczak - First Teamer
Bruno - Squad player
Upson - First Teamer (with a pre-season and more games under his belt, he's still got the quality)
El-Abd - Squad Player
Greer - Squad Player
Bridge - First Teamer
Bridcutt - First Teamer
Hammond - Squad Player
Orlandi - First Teamer
Vicente - First Teamer
Dicker - Not good enough
Crofts - Not good enough
Buckley - First Teamer/Squad
Lua Lua - Squad Player
Lopez - First Teamer
Ulloa - First Teamer
CMS - Squad Player
Barnes - Squad player
Hoskins - Not good enough
Dobbie - Not good enough
JFC - Squad player (development)
Ankergren - Squad Player
Brezovan - Not good enough
Calderon - Squad player
Dunk - Squad player
