They have not been 'superb'. Well maybe they have if you like a scrappy and unattractive counterattacking style of play. They are horrible to watch much like forest.
They really aren't.

Most pundits agree that Palace are decent to watch.
Wharton , Mateta, Munoz,.Eze have all had stand out seasons.

They have beaten us easily twice, by being well organised, intelligent, quick and clinical.

They won't have another season like it, but they have been superb.

So superb that they came 12th. They got lucky with a cup run.

The limiting factor here is Lyon, Textor's other club, might not be allowed into European competition on the basis of their ropey financial situation in which case it's a moot point.
Let’s see what UEFA do when they get under the bonnet of those Loophole Lovers Chelsea. Hotels, women’s team… FFS

Disagree. They have some good players but their style is awful.

Disappointing to see so many of our fans being as delusional as that lot usually are.

First time I can remember their first team being significantly better than ours.
Haha the only delusion here is yours. Sorry mate but we finished higher, they had a very easy run to the final, only won it with an unbelievable var decision and had we not had so many injuries we would have finished even higher. They are incredibly boring and unentertaining to watch, only relying on quick breaks to hit opposition. They are awful.

If they are significantly better than our first 11, many of whom were injured for a fair length of the season, how did they end up with 8 points and 4 league places lower than us.

Primarily due to their start, whilst they adapted to life without Olise.

Think they were 14 points behind us at one stage.

By the time both teams established themselves, they've been performing better.

They've been lucky to keep their first 11 together, but Glasner, Henderson, Munoz, Mitchell, Guehi, Lacroix, Eze, Mateta have all had better seasons than their Albion counterparts.

Did you miss the amount of injuries, and the length of time our players were out injured?

Doesn’t our 2 bad runs count, the same as Palaces bad start?

Their cup run, Stockport, Donny, Millwall,Fulham, Villa, City.

The only one of those we’ve played an d not beaten this season is Villa who they played 3 days after them being knocked out of Europe.

They have had a good season, but, it’s also been a very lucky one.

They did finish 8 points adrift of us after taking all 6 points from us plus they didn't have a horrendous catalogue of injuries like us.

Obviously their Cup win is a stellar performance from them all be it that they had a cushy ride to the quarter finals. I don't think we would have beaten Fulham (away) and Aston Villa but I don't think they would have beaten Chelsea and Newcastle.

Very interesting to see if they can hold onto their better players and how they fair playing in Europe and the domestic competitions next season

Palace being consistently very good is exactly the point.

They have destroyed Fulham, Villa and us at least twice each this season.

You can dress it up as luck, if you need to, but it isn't.

My last post on this subject because I suspect I’m being whooshed.

My point stands, did they get 8 fewer points, and 4 places lower.

They also shipped 5 goals on 3 occasions against teams who didn’t beat us (Newcastle, Arsenal, and City)

Not sure how many times it needs to be said they came 12th.

How did they do vs “the big six” and Newcastle?

We beat all of them apart Arsenal and Newcastle at home and won away at Newcastle (twice), spurs and United. Drew at Arsenal.

We struggled vs poorer sides. Maybe the best teams struggle vs good sides and play well vs lesser sides?

I think there may be some very interesting discussions going on in the Palace boardroom right now. Textor will likely be required to put his shares into a trust, but will he? In the past month there have been reports of him wanting to take over the club amid discussions with the other shareholders. He can't do that now for a year unless he prevents them from entering the Europa League. Unlikely I know that he would prevent it, but it depends on how determined he is to own that rabble - and his relationship with the other board members. Could be an interesting watch over the next few weeks.

They beat one of the big six at Wembley.

If it's all about league places, then they must have been better than us last season, I guess. I didn't see it that way, personally.

Most independent viewers see Palace's season as consistently impressive and ours as inconsistent and disappointing.

Deep down we all see that.

Glasner has made them a very good team.
Hopefully that will all get f***ed up over the next 12 months

Yes they did. They won a one off match when the ref and VAR made an inexcusably poor decision. Would they have won without Henderson? Unlikely.

Remember last season we were also obliterated by injuries. It happens.

We"ll never know and it doesn't matter.
They won it and have had a superb season.
