Hopefully they can't if UEFA stick to their rules.

So the Europa League will be one team down. If the EPL need to provide another team I'd assume it would be Forest.

Then that means a Europa Conference spot available?

With it being Forest in 7th with that owner, who has had to give up shares in Olympiacos, he could kick up a right fuss if Uefa let them off.

A significant points deduction for Citeh would also do it. Hopefully, their appeals against their punishment wouldn't be heard until they are playing Championship football. There is more than one straw!
May give us a qualification boost for next season.... ???

Yes, but we'll need to be one place outside the European places in 2031 for that....

There should also be a rule about clubs who have cheated financially playing in Europe. But let’s be honest, the chance of the rules being upheld against the franchise 2010 version of that club are very unlikely.

Surely in that case they would just demote Palace to the conference and upgrade Forest to the Europa?
They’re not going to completely demote palace and give the place to a club that hasn’t qualified when there’s a much simpler solution

If palace are run in a way that disallows them from competing in one European competition, why would it be okay in another?

As much as my sides would totally split if it happened, I'd feel that we had 'made' Europe by default. That's not how I want us to do it, and despite my inherent dislike for Palace, I truly would feel a little sorry for them. Not much...just a little....but let's do it on merit, rather than on the failings of an incompetent wealthy owner.

Does Selhurst Park come up to spec in UEFA's eyes ???
Perhaps someone could inform UEFA, what an antiquated shit hole it is.
Then we'll have a shoe in, eh.....!

But it’s not about how they are run, it’s about their owner holding shares in another club in the same competition so conflicting interests? If they were in the conference there would be no confliction

They could have put Textor EF Holdings shares in Palace in a blind trust until after the competition is over but technically they missed the deadline to do so which was back in March.

I think not being League place qualifiers but outliers of the FA Cup win qualifying them after the deadline, they could make an argument based on fairness for an extension to that deadline and still put Textor shares in a blind Trust (or less convincing, argue that Textor doesn’t have a controlling voice on Palace’s board of directors).

Ah yeah. Maybe that is a point? Why then all the conjecture that if palace are banned then someone will take their place?

Because the two teams that Textor is involved wouldn't then be playing in the same competition and therefore no conflict of interest.
Yes as said by another poster already, however there have been loads of quotes saying palace may be disqualified, if so in which case no-one has suggested they would go into the other competition. Maybe the FACup winners can only qualify for the Europa League? Otherwise why was anyone thinking it could be a lifeline of sorts?

I think when supping the 4th pint in some European square, I wouldn't care how Brighton got there, but just be glad I did....

wouldnt feel the slightest hint of sorrow for Crystal Palace.
