So in the last 30 games, we finished 4 points ahead of you. Once we got going etc. And we also won the FA Cup whilst you didn't. We also beat you twice this season, 5-2 on aggregate. There was nothing charitable about the Selhurst win, we hd 9 men at one point in the game and still won! I think my point stands, we are a better side than you given the above, the facts speak for themselves!
This bothered you so much that you came on the opposition board just to tell them that ?

I used to wonder why the very odd Albion fan would go on the Palace board just to try and say they have a bigger willy. I'm sure you have better things to do. If you think Crystal Palace are better, I'll agree with you. Just to save some time in your life.

In fact, i'd say only Van Hecke and Baleba would get into our first X1.
Kaoru Mitoma is the most talented footballer either side has EVER had - he is legitimately world class, better even than Ali Mac, an instrumental part of the World Cup winning Argentina squad.

The rest of your post was relatively sensible until that final sentence, which just comes across as silly trolling given we finished 8th with far, far worse injury issues than Palace.

Even people moaning about palace enjoying the rub of the green isn't sour grapes though, although maybe I'm just being an unreasonable pedant!

"The Fox and the Grapes is one of Aesop's Fables,[1] numbered 15 in the Perry Index.[2] The narration is concise and subsequent retellings have often been equally so. The story concerns a fox that tries to eat grapes from a vine but cannot reach them. Rather than admit defeat, he states they are undesirable. The expression "sour grapes" originated from this fable.[3]"

Oh I take your point. For years on NSC (long before 2003 when this current incarnation started) I've banged on about taking the FA Cup seriously and was always shouted down. "The Cups are a distraction", everyone would say, "We're not going to win them so League points are far more important so that we can avoid relegation / consolidate / get promotion. Next year we can take the Cups seriously, but not this." I always hated that attitude, I wanted us to win something; or if nothing else I wanted us to be the first League Two club to reach the FA Cup final for example. It is possible, as we've seen it can be done it with a favourable draw, some fortuitous refereeing decisions, and a few freak results against disinterested big sides playing their reserves (so that they can 'concentrate on the League'). Then we'd have something to talk about for years to come, same way as us old-timers go on about 1983.

But it wasn't to be. Now, like Aesop's fox I've got to pretend that I too don't care about the Cup. So Palace won the FA Cup. Big deal. I don't care. Nobody does. We finished above them in the league and that's way more important. In years to come we'll be forever able to point out that in the 2024/25 season we finished 8th whereas they only finished 12th. Bragging rights secured.

Who from CPFC2010 squad would be good enough for BHA?
Lots of players from their squad would be assets to our squad.

Eze, Wharton, Munoz, Henderson, Sarr, Mateta, Guehi certainly.

There isn't much difference in quality between the sides. (Which is why our latest troll's assertion that only TWO of ours would get in their side, is embarrassing).

Put both starting 11s into a 22 man squad, you would probably be fighting for the title with that much depth.

They've come a long way from the days of Groupon vouchers offers to fans a few years ago, at full strength this is probably a fair shout.

The difference with them compared to us is squad depth. If they don't strengthen and get injuries next season could be pretty lame for them.

Palace fan here. There really is a lot of bitterness/sour grapes on show here and a lot of coping mechanisms in full swing! A lot of posters saying we are a poor side etc. Come on, we are a very decent outfit, we've just won the FA Cup! It is not the fluke you like to think it is, Man City and Villa beaten by us, 2 CL sides this season. I know you guys finished above us but we had a dreadful start due to players coming back from the summer tournaments absolutely knackered and losing Olise and Andersen. Once we got going after 8 games we were very impressive, 12th is not a fair reflection on how good we are. In fact, i'd say only Van Hecke and Baleba would get into our first X1.
Mitoma could play in any team in the world !
There is not one player from palace that I would want

Sarr has surprised me. At Watford I thought he was a good player but had no real end product. Palace are getting the best out of him

Of course there is bitterness and sour grapes, it’s how it should be, I would expect nothing less if the boot was on the other foot. But your cup win? Apart from Villa and City you had a piss easy run. You are, and should be, crowing about the win to us. But don’t delude yourselves. We had the most playing time lost to injuries in the Prem last season, but still finished in a good position earning £12million more than you guys (your cup win was worth about £3million by the way).

Next season we are looking to improve and have already got players signed in advance. We might lose a couple but our transfer kitty will be bolstered and our recruitment process is well proven. If you guys lose a couple like Wharton and Olise you will be in panic mode. And if Glasner goes……..

You're right, we are all a bit jealous.

BUT you definitely have lucked out a bit with winning the FA Cup.

Early rounds you had a very easy run but the games you highlight as showing how well you've done in beating Villa and Man City don't really add up. Villa was in the same week as their European game, they played mid week and were clearly knackered. LUCKY.

I hate watched the final and you were average at best. You sat in for the whole game and scored on the break. Your keeper should have been sent off. LUCKY. Man City are not what they were. LUCKY

Only credit I'll give you was winning at Fulham was a very good win.

The issue for me is that Palace fans are making out that winning the FA Cup shows how much they have progressed. Like Spurs winning the Europa, it clouds over the league position. You finished 12th (admittedly after a poor start), we finished 8th, despite a very poor spell in the middle. So we have progressed better, despite being in the Premier League less time than you. We have finished in the premier league more times in the top 10 than you. our progression is better. That's it.

Lucky luck lucky.

I hope it blows up in your faces next season and you get relegated.

To be fair to them they only lost 11 times in the PL, Spurs lost 22 times.

But Palace rarely have a comfortable season in the PL, Glasner was probably one game from the axe last October. They're often only ever a few games from panic, resorting to likes Woy, Big Sam, Pullis or some other relegation specialist.

I'm going out on a limb here, but I think Palace could get relegated next season.

If you look at the three sides coming up, Burnley and Sunderland are obvious candidates for the drop, but Leeds seem to have some money behind them and I think they'll survive.

So who will the third team be?

Wolves had a massive revival in the second half of the season (although losing Cunha would have a big impact).

Everton are doing well under Moyes and will have the new stadium bounce.

West Ham look a possibility, but Potter is a good coach who needs time and I fancy him to turn it around.

Fulham, Brentford and Bournemouth all nearly qualified for Europe, so a big drop off seems unlikely.

Also very unlikely that Man United and Spurs will be as awful as they were last season.

Palace are an average mid-table team but with European fixtures to contend with. If they lose a couple of their star names, which seems very possible, they could be in trouble. If Glasner left too, it would definitely be worth a cheeky bet.

I won't pretend I don't care. But I see it as a challenge. Pretending it doesn't matter is how my petulant 7 year old chum behaved when he lost at Monopoly. The twat.

I hope you're right. That said Glasner seems like a good manage and their front three are very effective.

Much as it pains me to say it, I'm sure Palace will do enough to finish at least lower-mid table (say, 12th!). Even with Europe to contend with, they have enough quality in the squad. However, as you say, if Glasner left (and maybe one or two stand-out players) then my view would change...
