...anyone else like the idea of Elphick as new captain?

Or too young for the responsibility?

From memory Elphick and El Abd have both stood in as captain in the past. I think Navarro is also a great shout and Hendrie, if we can afford his wages.

Elphick stood in for Crofts so think he will be next in line. Depends on who comes in though if we bring in a leader give it them

Is Elphick now consistent enough to be picked for the majority of games? The captain needs to be a shoe in if fit doesn't he? I have no problem with him just not convinced he carries the authority of the sort of player I expect to captain us to success. I hope Gus will find another Nobby or Danny Wilson. That is the sort of captain we need if we are gonna be challenging.

Let Elphick concentrate on his game and give it to Al Abd

Albion captain Andrew Crofts is on the brink of completing a move to Championship newcomers Norwich.

The midfielder has pulled out of travelling with the Welsh squad for Sunday's friendly in Croatia in order to tie up a deal with the Canaries.

Now Tommy is back on form I think he should be allowed to continue to develop and not be burdened with the responsibility. No doubt he will be a fantastic captain in the future.

Big Polish centre back????? :bla:?

Yes, go on Granny.........

as usual at this time of the year, there was a rumour going around at work that we were going to be loaned a Polish Centre half from West Ham for a season long loan. Normally the rumours are crap, but when Zola left, this guy was told it was a definite go-er . I haven't been able to find out the name of a Polish centre back at west ham though! Unless they are buying someone and sending him out on loan like Chelsea did!
