as usual at this time of the year, there was a rumour going around at work that we were going to be loaned a Polish Centre half from West Ham for a season long loan. Normally the rumours are crap, but when Zola left, this guy was told it was a definite go-er . I haven't been able to find out the name of a Polish centre back at west ham though! Unless they are buying someone and sending him out on loan like Chelsea did!

If it's a rumour it's a good one and almost accurate. West Ham fella has told me that Poyet has been looking at a kid called Filip Modelski. But he's a right-back and very young. 18 I think. With Calderon gone it makes some sense. This fella knows nothing about him except he came from Arka in Poland and he's been in the youth team predominantly.

I would expect Gus to bring in a new "leader" and make him his Captain.

I hope that the sale of Crofts was agreed because Gus felt that he could get someone better suited to his style of play to replace him. Otherwise, selling a player that figures in his plans for a reputed £200-300,000 certainly shows little ambition and us remaining as a "selling club".
