ignoring the brackets bit, you're right FG, shame that we have to have this agreement with the council about tickets but imagine being able to pay on the turnstiles at Withdean. Guarantee you'd get more than 7000 turning up on the gate for the big games and that will leave alot of unhappy people who miss out. Then you'd get the feeling "why go and chance getting in when I can listen to it on the radio whist doing the gardening?, that'll save wasted time!" etc etc

yep its a no-win situation really i do also think the high cost of watching the club doesnt help i mean generally football fans wanna watch the game and will turn out evenwhen their team aint doing well but shell out £ 22 week after week at withdean especially as many go to away games perhps more than they wood if withdean was half decent etc is asking a lot especially if its a family shelling out for aduylt and say couple kids. it wont be though whilst at Withers, maybe if we do :gulp: drop back to Div2 they could drop it to £20 or something, highly unlikely they would do that but its worth investigating if we do get relegated.

I am shocked by this and other threads and by the amount of people on here who don't go to Withdean through choice how can you be an Albion supporter if you don't go to home games - again its the mid and west sussex types who have the MAN UTD 'fan' mentality ................ ridiculous if we don't get Falmer then its you 'I dont like/go to Withdean cos the bottled waters to expensive' who will be to blame.

But my point is, we choose sometimes to travel for upto 5 hours to get to a game and we're not supporters?! I've had a season ticket for a few years but couldn't afford it this time around as i'm now over 16 and i simply cannot afford £450. Plus the fact i work Saturday's limits the amount of games i can get too, it still doesn't make me any less of an Albion supporter than you, or anybody else.

I usually take it as read that I will not be able to get a ticket. Although the ease we got Plymouth tix has made be review this stance.

but I am first reserve for 2 season ticket holders I know and I do also sometimes get invited on the corporate tip.

plus with a golf addiction and a one year old son my weekends can be quite full.

Saying that I do like the away games and will continue to support the team away and home

I'm boycotting Withdean and will watch BHA FC away from home a few times this season

The "Withdean" factor has finally broken me and I can't justify spending a good whack in that piss pot of a ground

Hove Born & Bred, don't be a div and accuse fans such as myself as non-supporters because we are given up on Withdean. Using your rationale, I could mention your non-attendance at places like Hull on a friday night, Hartlepool/Scunthorpe on a wednesday night as reasons for why I don't consider YOU as a supporter............but that's childish and non-sensical (sp)

I've had my fill of Withdean, but if my non-attendance means more young supporters can go and watch the team, then the club lose nothing, perhaps actually gain new supporters

At the moment I fall into neither camp, as my live football so far this season has been from the seats at Old Trafford and Oakwell (Barnsley) so what kind of supporter does that make me Hove Born & Bred?!!

You complain we haven't got money for wages for players and yet contribute quite happily to other clubs coffers which is what you are doing when you only go to away games.
Cup games are the only ones where the visiting club gets a cut of the gate money.

If people cannot afford to go that does not make them a bad fan. If someone has other commitments that does not make them a bad fan. As dancing ninja said, there are many away games that are unattractive which do not attract the numbers who go to every home game..Im thinking of games like grimsby away last year when there were about 350 people there. Do those present say that they are the only proper fans because they stood in the rain to watch a piss poor performance? No, because they are not tossers.

I for one want as many albion fans as possible coming to games. If some only go to away games then fair enough. If some only come to home games, fair enough. if some go to no games, fair enough. If you support the albion you are ok in my book!

I think the whole question about whether people 'support' the albion or 'follow' them is a crap one. If when someone asks you who do you support you answer 'brigton' then as far as Im concerned you dont ever have to justify yourself to anyone with regards to how many games you attend and how much you spend in the club shop.

Being a Brighton fan should make you part of a special collective of people who have been united through some very hard times. Just because someone went to more games does not mean they care more, just because someone has spent more in the shop or shouted louder at games does not mean the club mean more to them then the next person.

We are all Brighton fans. End of.
