You complain we haven't got money for wages for players and yet contribute quite happily to other clubs coffers which is what you are doing when you only go to away games.
Cup games are the only ones where the visiting club gets a cut of the gate money.

Erm, is that above post aimed at me Yorkie?

If so, a tad harsh if you don't mind me saying. I don't recall complaining that we don't have money for wages for decent players on NSC, I often complain though that Oatway is shit and should never play for BHA FC again, or that Braders post utter drivel time and time again......;)

I don't mind going to different grounds to watch different teams, the thought that I'm putting money into another clubs' coffers doesn't even cross my mind.

I love watching live football, and if the game doesn't involve BHA FC then so be it

Im thinking of games like grimsby away last year when there were about 350 people there. Do those present say that they are the only proper fans because they stood in the rain to watch a piss poor performance?

I went

I must be proper :)

I was there as well. The point I was making though is that supporting Brighton should not be a competition. So what if some people only go to away games, its there choice.

We seem to be making a nasty habit of agreeing these days dancing ninja..

Are the people who no longer go to home games the same ones who ask"Where's all the money gone-why aren't we signing better players?"I t stands to reason that if people start boycotting Withdean ,the clubs income will fall and less money will be available for team strengthening.
I'm not adopting a "holier than thou" attitude and I accept that given my circumstances(my kids are all off my hands now) I can afford the ticket prices at Withdean ,I'm just at a loss to understand
how people who regard themselves as fans wont go to Withdean .Surely supporting the team is the prime consideration-the fact that we play in the crappiest stadium in the league is irrelevant

hove born and bred...look you inbred TWAT. We all love this club (from all parts of Sussex) and it's up to us how we spend our saturdays (whther it's at Withdean, an away game or no football at all) You have no right to say you are a better fan/ more loyal fan etc... There are mnany other ways that the club make money out of us (the fans)

Like other people i am fed up with the withdean experience and the cost, so i'll only be going to away matches (when i have the money) or if there is a cheap seat going at Withdean.

Just 'coz you've always lived in Brighton and or hove DOES NOT make you more of a fan.

Not aimed at anybody at all. It was a general question to be thrown in the melee and for people to discuss.

There are people here on Nsc who criticise DK for not putting his hand in his pocket when they won't do the same on a lot smaller scale.

I too was at Grimsby but it was only an hours drive for me at the time. I don't think that made me a better fan.

That is the point I was making. I was saying that lots of people could think of something which made them a better fan if they really wanted to...like that example...just many do not feel the need to because it is not important to justify your levels of support for the club you love. What is important is that you love it.

I am shocked by this and other threads and by the amount of people on here who don't go to Withdean through choice how can you be an Albion supporter if you don't go to home games - again its the mid and west sussex types who have the MAN UTD 'fan' mentality ................ ridiculous if we don't get Falmer then its you 'I dont like/go to Withdean cos the bottled waters to expensive' who will be to blame.

I live in West Sussex and I have probably been to more games than you have had hot dinners,Tosser!
But even I cant afford to pay out for 3 of us for a Season Ticket in March,or pay up to £50.00 for one game!!:nono:

You can love it as much as you want but when the club is limited to spending 60% of it's gate money on players wages then you know why we are not in the market for the players that some posters think we should be getting in.

That is why if we don't get Falmer we are finished. We are losing money and even more money when tickets aren't sold.

5 years down the line and will we even have a BHA to support at all?

CS you go on your own and tell your lads to get a paper round (JOKE)

Seriously, when my kids were younger I couldn't afford to go which is why I am making the most of it now they are off my hands.

Good on you Yorkie! I take my old man every now and again as a sort of 'thanks' for all the times he forked out taking me when I was younger.

Did you consider yourself less of a fan when you could not go?

You are not going to like this but yes, I did.
I could only watch occasional games when they were playing in Yorkshire or if my Dad treated me when I was visiting down here.

Well you should not of. An individuals circumstances should not make them feel any less of a fan.

but it should, Albion's best fan said so. You should all be ashamed of yourselves for just missing one game since you've supported Brighton. (me included)

Let's leave Brighton for the "real" fans.....

Of course I wasn't as much of a fan. I wasn't around in 97 like most of the people on here and I couldn't get to Gillingham..

maybe not, but you've helped (along with many others) to secure the future of this football club, by campaigning for Falmer.
