Does 'Withdean is a shithole and I'd rather spend my money on supporting the club at away games' count as a good excuse?

(it's not my excuse, by the way!)

That's mine but mostly I can't be bothered to go to Withdean coz it's too costly and I'd rather spend my money getting beered up.

It pisses me off to see empty seats. I am NOT a season ticket holder but try to get to as many home games as I can. I took my seat for the home again against Coventry to find 5 empty seats in front of me !!!!

I think the club could also do a little more to get these empty seats filled as well as the fans.:nono:

Most likely went to selhurst to watch good football.
Or to see if we were any worse than you.
I have been told on good authority that the atmosphere is crap at the withdean and that is by a Brighton fan is this true.

Since moving to Bristol, and surrendering my season ticket, buying general sale tickets for Withdean means I have to attend the match on my tod, due to friends still sitting in their normal seats. When I can get a seat with them, attending is fun. Otherwise, it's not quite the same experience when I could save the money for an away day with my mates.

It's not an ideal excuse but with limited student funds I choose to attend games based on the merits of the whole day out. Plus, I enjoy away games atmosphere more too.

I don't think I'm alone in this view and it is fair to say that many more years at the ground will probably erode the home support.

There is no roof on the biggest stand, we aren't allowed to stand up and it's hard to get chants going because the songs disppear in the trees behind the stand. Of course, something tells me that you already knew that.

this is the oldest gripe in the book . . .match attendance is not compulsory and missing a game doesnt make you any moe or less a club supporter

Withdean, like Gillingham and the Goldstone before it has its faults, so what, its still our club to be supported and its just one of those things you have to live with

I've not renewed my season ticket because of other commitments and the fact that I'm well aware people object to paid for seats being empty

what concerns me more is unsold empty seats when we're trying to justify a stadium 3 times the size, and the primary reason for that is a lack of entertainment on the pitch, you can't blame Withdean, it has facilities every bit as good as the Goldstone and Gillingham gave us !

I'm with Triggerino, Withdean is pants....plain and simple! Its not like watching a Div1 game at all, its like watching the mighty Southwick but with a bigger stand than the old West Side which got burned down (in suspicious circumstances! ). Anyway I'd much prefer to save my cash for away games as they are more fun to me.

If everyone had the attitude that Withdean is crap and I'll only go to the away games. None of us would have a club to support anymore. Withdean is shit. I don't you'll find one fan who likes it there. But needs must and I'd rather watch them there than ground share with a club that has a roof! It's not forever but empty seats will not help the club get a new ground.

I'm with you Crabbers on that, if we have the time we'd rather do an awayday than a home game, although we're so bloody busy at the moment the chance of getting to a home game would be good !

That`s true i heard about your heavy stewards down there how ridiculous is that not standing up what do you do when you score

IMHO not being able turn up an hr so before k o and pay on turnstiles is a majot factor in putting people off coming to withdean (sh1te team and potless chairman doesnt help too)
