I'm sorry but the incredibly rare instances of seeing someone fall in front of a train does not deserve any additional pay or indeed any sympathy whatsoever. Train drivers today and tube drivers today have it easy. Tube drivers basic starting salary is around £35k. That is plenty for a job with little skill, no stress and no pressure.

Surely having the lives of hundreds of people in your charge and having to work undeground deserve a good wage?

I think your off the mark with people under trains but i do agree that train drivers have it a lot easier these days than in days gone by.

So in summary trains cannot navigate without sat nav.
Train drivers are not as cool as pilots and Il Duce hates them.
CAs are the hottest thing this side of Mount Vesuvius (thou hard to believe).
