Hither (sometimes Thither)
Yesterday, i got the tube from North London to South London. When i cycle, it takes me 35 minutes at the most. I arrive at work a little damp with sweat, and perhaps a tad vexed with a bus or two that has attempted to turn me into a bagful of splat. Yesterday, it took me an hour and 40 minutes. I arrived just as moist, but i'd barely moved an inch.
It doesn't seem right, is all. The system bends and often collapses under the weight of the sheer number of users, so it's difficult to find anyone to blame directly.
When i walk past tube entrances, i always like to imagine that the blast of wind that strikes me is the release of one collective sigh of the thousands of trapped victims still underground.

But i take it no one has a bike they want to sell.

:)

In Rotterdam everybody rides everywhere but they've all got shit bikes so they don't bother locking it up, you just leave it and if it's gone by the time you need to go somewhere you take another one. That sounds like a good idea to me.

This morning I stood up to let a blind chap sit down ( everyone else pretended to be asleep:angry:  ) and guess what happened.

i was listening to my CD player ( Faure's Requiem) and as I stood up I forgot I was still attached and it fell down, and now it wont work:cry:

So basically, being a good samaritan has cost me valuable rehearsal time listening to music I will be singing :nono:
