Who are we to judge who lives and dies? Are we going to descend to his level?
I

'Is is right to be judgemental?'

Descend to his level? Are you forgetting that this bloke lured two innocent children to his house and then murdered them both whilst one looked on? how many people do you think will forgive something like this?

Do you really think that this sort of person doesnt deserve to be judged?

Seriously - your taking some sort of moral high ground here and virtually saying that we should forgive a child murderer. Forgive and forget might be fine for you but f***ing sick people like this should be put away for life - if he wants to kill himself then let him - people like him arent worth saving amd the streets will be safer for all concerned

I wonder why we are paying taxpayers money to keep scum like Huntley in secure accommdoation for maybe the next 30 years. And how much is that going to cost the state and the taxpayer? I think the Americans have got it right in administering lethal injections. To hell with his human rights, what rights did he afford the two little girls.

Ahhh, but who are we to judge if a human lives or dies, even if they are EVIL CHILD KILLING BASTARDS?

I think we have the right. I would bring back hanging for some even though it was considered barbaric in some quarters. What deterrent is there for murderers in this country - they are sentenced to life, but with time spent on remand and time off for good behaviour they can be out in 9 years, what sort of a life sentence is that?

None - the only life sentance is that that the family and friends have to suffer at the hands of these evil bastards

I can see your point Spicy - but I don't believe in an eye for an eye to be honest. If we as a state start killing people doesn't that make us the same? Murderers? and what happens when the jury get it wrong ( as they sometimes do!)...

Why can't we lock em up with no tv, no privleges and nothing but 4 walls and porridge for b, l and tea!

Some murderers have it cushy though, Tedebear, and Huntley is one of them. He is guarded so that the rest of the prison population won't do indescribable things to him and it is far more costly for people like him as they are hated by the rest of the prison population and the officers and are segregated for their own safety. Is corporal punishment murder though, I would say not and I agree with Trotster that the family of the victim(s) serve their own life sentences.

Funny how when people are sick in the body they get plenty of sympathy but when they are sick in the head they get very little. And the bloke must have been sick in the head to step so far outside acceptable human behaviour.

Yep agree with you there - I cannot understand why prisoners have rights! They've forfeited them in my opinion, which is why I said what I did before...which was if life meant life then I'd be happy for him to be miserable in his cell for all eternity, but sadly it doesn't.

So I can't kill him, but I do wish that he was actually serving some kind of punishment...

I agree the victims serve a life sentence in a completely different manner as all people who have lost someone do, but if the perpertrator were locked away forever suffering would it be any different to if they were dead? Possibly? I don't know...but I'd rather prisoners suffer than receive half the stupid cushy "rights" they do now....

Cushy? Why's he so keen to kill himself then, shouldn't he kicking back and enjoying the lifestyle?

But surely hanging would mean that he is in pain for that period of time and then no more suffering ? (unless you believe that hell exists)

Surely he should suffer for years and years in a cell with his own conscience haunting him forever.

The changes I would make is that the prison conditons for Huntley should be dire (thus cheaper to maintain) and that life means life, in a cell till his very last breath.

Ps - Hello helen and Laura xxx

Morals and ethics ??

WTF??

Kick his head right in, hell with morals and ethics. Our societal mores were based on the Old Testament? David sliced and diced whole cities, leaving no-one left alive.

No, sorry, burn the mutha slowly, and feed his parts to cockraoches as he watches on.

Other than that, I'd say be merciful and kind, after he's brown bread.

But your right honurable mr wilko, he wont acutally spend his life in a prison cell will he, he will get parole in teh next 5-10 years and then let back out into society. currently, he has a nice cell, tv, sky - he even has his own facebook page! all this at tax payers expense. He will never make a useful contribution to society nor will he give anything back.

Yes, he should be punished - but in the proper way, we cant hang the fucker but why cant he spend the rest of his days rotting in a cell without modern comforts, rehab programmes and education? Prisoners get better treatment than people on teh outside.

People living in prisons get a better life than alot of normal folk do. My housemate works in Canterbury Prison part-time and the prisoners get Sky TV and Playstation 2's.
It certainly sounds better than where I am living as a student. Hell, they even get visits from their families twice weekly. They should make Prison an absolute hell hole. Perhaps lining the cells with Palace posters or something like that.

As for Huntley, let's hope he dies.
