That team is actually quite hilarious. The way it's written, looks like a 3-4-3 with Calderon and Chicksen as wide midfielders, with Crofts and Manu on the wing and Towell up front??? What on earth? Hull have put a very decent team out too. This could be quite amusing.

Hard to know what formation is to be played

Maenpaa

Goldson
Dunk
Ridgewell
Chicksen

Calderon
Crofts
Ince
Towell
Holla

Elvis

5 attackers on the bench

Awesome Bench!!! Three players from it can only do 45mins so the tacticis we get to half time 0-0 then unleash Zamora-Lua Lua-Baldock????

Calderon------------------------------Chicksen
Holla-Ince-Crofts
Towell
Manu

So Brighton 0 then :lolol:

That is excatly a I see it being. the way they will line up with Chicksen or Calderon dropping back to make a 4 depening on how they attack and which side.and getting forward as a wing back. to make 4 in midfield. IMHO a good formation and interesting to see how it works for possible difficult away games until all are fit.

****ing hell, we don't stand a chance with that lineup. Probably for the best but shame for those that have travelled..

That is true, but anyone travelling expecting a 'strong' line up, probably thinks they are treated unfairly 10 or 20 times a day.

interesting selection. no Tilley, nice one argus. if Harper isn't getting a go in this one, I wonder if he ever will? thought this was the ideal try out for him.

Not surprised to see 5 at the back, damage limitation ? Cant see point of Murphy & BZ on bench especially if Tilley travelled.
Last chance saloon for Chicksen & Holla, big game/test for Ince.

Surprised to see Calderon in the squad, let alone starting, would've thought he needed a rest the most

To be honest, 5-4-1 is a tricky formation to play against if done well. This is a real opportunity for Chicksen and Towell to shine in their preferred positions.

What's the point of playing Chicksen or Holla? to put them in the shop window?

Towell's goalscoring record indicates he is an attacking midfielder but actually (as has been posted on NSC by Dundalk supporters) he is a deep-lying midfielder. Most of his goals have come from set-pieces, arriving into the box late or long range shots. I imagine he is a similar type of player to Holla but hopefully more mobile, aggressive and suited to championship football. Calde looks like the best striking option in that team to me.

That line-up looks like a lonely day for l'il Manu. Would hope that Holla is not our third defensive midfielder and would form a neat bond with Towell behind our offside addict, playing some balls through and shooting whenever he had the chance. A good defensive display might bring the confidence back into Dunk though, so some good might come from it, along with the hope of no replay.
