Premier League - Arsenal 49 games May 2003 to October 2004

Huddersfield have gone 32 LEAGUE games (excl play-offs) without defeat, since they lost at Southampton in December 2010

Tonights result blunts my argument a bit but here goes.

A great record going so long unbeaten but maybe it is now hindering them as they
go into games trying to defend their unbeaten record rather than trying to win games.

Apart from Huddersfield, Yorkshire football is utter toilet. No team in the Prem, Leeds & Barnsley inconsistent, Donny seemingly going down, both Sheffield clubs playing 3rd tier footie, with the Wendies on the end of a 5-1 thumping tonight at Stevenage. Rotherham are doing well in league two but it doesn't make up for the fact that things aren't going very well in 'Gods Own Country'. And Yorkshire CCC have been relegated down to the County Champ Div 2.

Cheers for the heads-up, I've been chortling roundly at the aftermath. I particularly liked the thread on 'Megsons reaction tonight' - with the predictable guesses being interspersed with classics like "I'd like him to sing Nessum Dorma".

The " If Megson goes, who's next? " thread made interesting reading. Someone suggested calling Gus and the response he got was :

"There are no positives from tonight, the only way I can see out of our dire situation is to demolish Hillsborough, give our trophies to the pigs, build a Lidl store in it's place and employ the players to work on the checkouts with Megson as store manager.

Forget Wednesday ever existed, it was just a bad dream.

This is the only option left open to us. If we keep trying to support Sheffield Wednesday it will just ruin our quality of life and the stress will eventually drive us to an early grave. We all have human rights and Sheffield Wednesday is breaching them severely."
