I had to stand next to this pakistani looking bloke on the train last week and he stank, he stood right in front of me as well so I didn't have space to read my paper

You should worry? When I eventually got a train home from Gatwick today an Asian fella got on and sat next to me clutching his ruck sack! I was'nt sure if he was more worried about me mugging him or I was more worried about the ruck sack going BANG!!!!

I think the definition differs depending on where you live. If you live in, say, Southall and as a white person you are in the minority your views of racism may be different from those who live in mainly white areas, who may be more tolerant.
In areas where there are high immigrant populations, you are the one discriminated against because you don't fit in and people can lose tolerance in those circumstances. Before anyone flames me, I do not live in Southall!!

We all have personal opinions about racism but where it does lead to problems is where we go in for stereotyping of races. Racism is not only confined to black v. white, but often there is discrimination within communities - I am thinking about the caste system in Asian countries or communities here.

Xenophobia is not wanting foreigners in "your" country. Insulting someone because they're Frence or insulting all French people is racist.

Look at New york............. you have Little Italy, Chinatown, Spanish Haarlem and of course Little Wogland. People like to stick with their own for the most part.
