Obviously it will be great whatever the game, but it would feel like it would mean more if it were a league game as opposed to a friendly.

Circa 57 games left at Withdean!

I hadn't thought of it like that. That figure to me anyway, makes it seem even closer.

Each to their own - makes it seem longer to me!!

I think I'll have a mental one to celebrate the night before, get up, bit of breakfast and a few early pints wherever my local is by then, meet the lads in the closest pub to the station at whichever end of the trainline I'm living (Lewes/Brighton), then towards the ground for about 2ish to see what the bar's like there!

That is if the demons that are marriage and family haven't gotten me!

I will ride the golden escalator into the marble floored press box, waving 'royal like' to Mr Coach and Lil' Coach who will be in their respective season ticket seats below, and nibble on canapes (or more like a pie) before watching my team trounce the opposition and stomp on their noses. but please mind the hallowed turf, dont make the grass too snotty.

I will make my way to the "NON ALLOCATED SEATS", will stand watching the game until steward 433 tells me to sit down and then I will watch the game through misty eyes.

I will turn up for work about 12.30 have plenty of nicotine for 15 mins then go inside for briefing at 13.00 then have a burger (hopefully better than the current offerings) get in position for Turnstiles opening.

Spend an hour watching peoples faces as they take their new seat in the stadium with a great big grin on my face :D

Wait for the game to start and listen as the amazing sound of 23,000 people singing. Pick Dave out in the crowd and immediately tell him to sit not stand :lolol:

Rejoice as the finest bunch of supporters see the Albion win the first ever game at the new stadium against a newly relegated Palarse

are you stewards going to help people find their seats or just stare blankly at them whilst they flounder around before you climb the stairs to tell them to sit down?

Of course hopefully as we will have a roof the bloody numbers might stay on as well.

We are having at least two "practice" events to get used to the new stadium layout evac procedures etc before we can hold a league match anyway so hopefully it will be a routine by then anyway

in the long term i wonder if pubs around the station will lose their saturday football trade to fans going to the stadium to drink.

if the club will be making siginficant profit from the sale of beer and encourage the fans to come down at 12 o'clock-ish then i think many pre-mtach pub regulars will be drawn away to the ground in support of the club.

If the beer was good and the prices were no more than pub prices i'd definately be more keen to drink before the game. Imagine a pub in the ground full of Albion fans every week.... dreams are made of this stuff.

if the first game was a friendly against the palarse ,then i would get up at stupid o'clock in the morning and head for the Burrell in Haywards Heath ,where i would have a belly full of beer , then brick the trains full of Palarse as they come through the station.

There again i might just have a few beers with my mates in HH then head of to the ground, not sure though whether it would be via lewes or Brighton and after the game back to the Burrell for a couple before heading back north:albion2:

although I am a young lad living in Canada, there is no way that I will miss this game. Might just fly over for the occasion, or something else larger may be in the cards...
