lol,,,,McCormack is coming to us, Zaha will be sold and how many did Murray get last season?....Don't worry Murray will start scoring when there is a year left on his contract and you still got Wilbraham!!!

Why on earth do you think McCormack will be signing for Brighton? McCormack will be a Palace player as soon as Varney signs for Leeds.
What evidence do you have to suggest that Zaha will be sold? You're just guessing. It seems very unlikely to me.
Murray will not be a first choice striker for us. He'll be in rotation with Wilf/McCormack.

You are letting the rivalry cloud your judgement.

Likewise, if we sign Raul, Owen, and Heskey our strikeforce is far better than what you've got. Your strike force doesn't include Ross Mccormack. Zaha scored 6 goals, Murray scored 6.

Both of our strikers scored a few more than that. As well as one of our wingers.

Unfortunately for you, Raul, Owen and Heskey are unlikely to be signing for you. McCormack is probably going to be a Palace player next year.

Zaha last year scored 9 goals and got 5 assists. Murray was a rotation player last year, and has the potential to do very well this year. McCormack scored 19 goals and hopefully will replicate that form with us

I don't think we are hugely inferrior to many teams. Barnes and CMS are two very good strikers, there are some teams who have 1 who is better but not many with 2. seeing that list has made me feel more positive about our chances next season

What like Murray did, he is going to find it hard especially in relegation threaten team. He will realise this so he won't jump onboard your sinking decaying ship.

even if you do sgn McCormack you've got to get the ball to him so he can score and Ambrose was the only one likely to be able to pass it to him. you could have tried hoof ball up to him and Murray but Clyne has now left and you'll stuggle to get the ball much past the half way line.
If you don't make some very big signings then Palarse will be relegated

I kind of think you might be right. But for the life of me, I can't imagine why he'd sign for Palace when other clubs are reported to be interested in signing him. Everything about Palace just reeks of depression and decay.

Dougie. It's all about Dougie. He's got some sort of Paul McKenna hypnosis technique that he uses. Every player that signs for us says that Dougie was the clincher. He has a massively persuasive vision for the club and he is very "hands on" with his approach.

(That and money, but that goes for any club)

Ambrose didn't play in quite a few games last season. He was largely used as a sub, and when he started he was taken off by the 70 minute mark.

Jon Williams and Wilf Zaha will be our main creators next season I think, but Dougie is currently trying to sign another creative player so who knows.

Just because you say it, doesn't mean it's true. Literally all available evidence points to Palace having a significant amount of money to spend. Dougie had a "play-off sized" transfer budget to begin with, and we've added to that with several million pounds worth of transfer fees.

You are just making stuff up because you like the sound of it :)

You're haemorrhaging millions every year though, with no real chance of earning significant income for the next few years at least. And is dippy Dougie really that much of an attraction with his much mooted negative style of play?

Then why the f*ck are players leaving Palace like whores out of a minibus on boat race night ?

To list every striker would be a pain in the but but narrowing down each team to two it looks something like this, although probably plenty of errors not including people leaving and those coming in, but best I could do in 2 mins without putting any effort in.

Mido Barnsley
Craig Davies Barnsley
Nikola Zigic Birmingham
Marlon King Birmingham
Rubén Rochina Blackburn
David Goodwillie Blackburn
Gary Taylor-Fletcher Blackpool
Roman Bednar Blackpool
David N'Gog Bolton
Kevin Davies Bolton
Craig Mackail-Smith Brighton
Ashley Barnes Brighton
Jon Stead Bristol City
Brett Pitman Bristol City
Charlie Austin Burnley
Danny Ings Burnley
Joe Mason Cardiff
Rudy Gestede Cardiff
Yann Kermorgant Charlton
Bradley Wright-Phillips Charlton
Wilfried Zaha Crystal Palace
Glenn Murray Crystal Palace
Jamie Ward Derby
Steven Davies Derby
Jordan Rhodes Huddersfield
Lee Novak Huddersfield
Matty Fryatt Hull
Kamel Ghilas Hull
Jay Emmanuel-Thomas Ipswich
Michael Chopra Ipswich
Ross McCormack Leeds
Luciano Becchio Leeds
David Nugent Leicester
Jermaine Beckford Leicester
Marvin Emnes Middlesbrough
Lukas Jutkiewicz Middlesbrough
Andrew Keogh Millwall
Darius Henderson Millwall
Dexter Blackstock Nottm Forest
Robbie Findley Nottm Forest
Lee Tomlin Peterborough
Paul Taylor Peterborough
Gary Madine Sheff Wed
Ryan Lowe Sheff Wed
Troy Deeney Watford
Chris Iwelumo Watford
Steven Fletcher Wolves
Kevin Doyle Wolves

Have you left out Rickie Lambert because he only scored 27 times for Saints last season

Nobody (apart from Clyne, who made it clear he was leaving last year) has wanted to leave Palace this season. Scannell and Ambrose were sold, they didn't ask to leave, as Dougie wanted them off the wage bill and didn't want them for next season.

Dougie is in the middle of a re-building job. Ambrose said he wanted a new contract, and Scannell had signed a 3.5 year deal last season. Dougie just didn't want to keep them. Ambrose's wages were too high, and Scannell apparently had some issues off the pitch as well as not fulfilling the potential he definitely had on the pitch.

I know everyone gets hung up on a 20 goal a season striker but last season only two strikers made that, Lambert and Vaz te, and they finished 2nd and 3rd. THe team that won the league, Reading, had a top scorer with 12 goals, only 1 more than Barnes, and their next top scorer had 8 goals, one less than CMS, so if the rest of the team chip in and you have a solid defence then it isn't necessary to score loads. 46 goals in total could win you the league. Before our poor run at the end of the season we were only 4 goals and a couple of clean sheets behind reading. Our defence is now looking good and so we should have more freedom and confidence to go forward so more goals should follow. You can look at the team with the best individual players or you can look at the team that plays the best as a team. Germany have shown that internationally that you can go a long way without great players but having a great team.

Which great players has he persuaded to sign then? I must have missed them all! Dougie Freedman, his Lank Greasy hair, and obsession with young men is not going to be the clincher in getting any real quality to sign I'm afraid to tell you.
