Playing devil's advocate here but assuming we accept that foxes are vermin and need to be killed, what is your preferred method?

a) hunting them with a pack of dogs until they're exhausted and then ripping them to pieces?

b) shooting them, which has a risk of them not being killed outright, escaping and dying a slow and painful death

c) poisoning them, which means a slow and painful death.

My big gripe about yesterday's events is I believe it was a purely political move. If this government was so desperate to ban fox-hunting that they are prepared to use the Parliament Act to force the legislation through, why did they not use the Parliament Act to force it through within days of coming to power 7 years ago?

No stats no word of mouth actually what i have seen from these hunts i have only seen once in the last 5 years the fox actually caught and killed.

maybe that the hunt i see are shit or that this is common place the hunt master has said this is average.

i always see then at the local and when they are supposed to catch it they have to bring back proof and only once have seen it.

against it or not that is no way as bad as the anti hunt state there is always some invention on both sides but i feel that is no way as bad as they make out in parliment

why not train foxes to be of use on the farm, perhaps wooing them over with a nice Chicken madras and some gin, then everyone can live in harmony on the same land

A MORI poll, released immediately after the Commons vote for a ban on hunting with dogs, shows that a majority of the public believes that the government should now bring in a ban on hunting this year, irrespective of the vote in the House of Lords tomorrow.

The last MORI hunting poll*, in January, showed that 72% of the public think fox hunting should not be legal, 80% think so of deer hunting and 81% of hare coursing.

I've yet to meet one normal person who does and I live in surrey.What normal person gets pleasure fromseeing a animal pulled apart. Most people in the street would try and help a wounded animal you and the like would rush to see dogs pull it apart.It's a small step from sadism.

I don't support hunting, by I can understan why passions are running so high. Just imagine if parliament had voted to ban football.

Ok fair enought but where did the info come from for pro hunting come from and what was asked.

it seems differnet results are posted regular on this

one thing is certain more pro hunt turned up than anti the countryside are pretty pissed buy the way the goverment have shafted them over many issues issues that does not affect city dewllers but cause a lot of job losses in the country side

I think they were right to do what they did, if my livelyhood was at stake i would have done the same. I hope they dont get charged and hunting is allowed to continue for many marvellous years to come.

I dont seek any pleasure from hunting i dont watch it i just talk to people and the the country side round here there is a lot at stake a lot of money will be pulled out and the people and the countryside will be affected

Some rich tossers do it but the less well off benefit from this and i still stand by the fact that more get away than are caught and more get flattend by cars.

yep agreeded but the press picked them out They might be doing this out of purley selfish resons or they are doing it because they can see many people in there area suffering for it
