I will finally get around to making my t-shirt: “The peasants are revolting!” Above a picture of a toothless dimwit. The Gods and Peasants?
The TV hanging half way out looks a bit of a panic afterthought mind.
I highly recommend the latest Overlap Fan Debate with NSCs very own finance expert discussing with Carragher and co how clubs are becoming so disinterested in the 'legacy' fan that they will buy their regular tickets back and repackage them as some sort of experience to sell on to tourists.
More money for the suits is all that matters. We're going the same way. Depressing
Cant believe the 1901 is attracting people that want to shout outCouldn't disagree more, I think it's a great idea. There are plenty of people in the current 1901 such as myself who want a nice view and a decent seat and somewhere warm and dry to have a beer before / after the game, who find the people around them old, stuffy and silent. I'd rather be somewhere with an atmosphere, and would definitely contribute to it, but that sort of thing is frowned upon up there. If the North can't be extended with another proper tier then this is a way of getting a few more hundred voices in there while generating some decent revenue for the club. It's win/win.
I don't think its unfair to suggest we are also travelling down a more corporate route though, some additions to the ground have things like an Amex exclusive zone, we're not the worst, and its a league wide problem, but its here at Brighton like anyone else. But "we're going the same way" ?
We've apparently sold more season tickets this year than ever before (and they're still on sale - hard to argue that if you want one , you're being denied one). These are new extra seats being built in time for 26/27-not regular seats being resold and repackaged. The "experience" - presumably similar to the 3000 other 1901 seats that Albion have had for 15 years now - this type of seat isn't new for the Amex - is literally for Brighton fans only, and some on this thread - legacy fans perhaps - seem pretty interested in them. i suppose you can dismiss them as "tourists" - but they will have to be committed to buying multiple seasons worth of tickets upfront.
One of the clubs goals is to be sustainable financially or as you put it "making money for the suits" but repackaging up this announcment and the club as disinterested in its existing fanbase - a club that spent nearly half an hour of its awards a few weeks ago paying tribute to Dick Knight and, whilst not flawed, is certainly a long way short from some of the stories told on that podcast - quite the stretch.
Oops I set off the Bot again. But "we're going the same way" ?

Looks like 5 rows in the mock up. It doesn't look like the seats are going back into the north stand at all. Hard to say whether it'll be low enough to restrict being able to see the ball up in the air.To repeat…what will be the overhang over seats in the north stand …..any idea how many rows this will affect?
or are they sinking the seats back into the north stand areas that are currently the old TV studio and offices To minimise overhang?
I ask as the worst view in the whole of the football league is QPR at the Back of the stand behind the goal where if you are sat the last few rows, you cant see the ball when it is kicked in the air.
Albion is a business obviously, a pretty successful one. And i guess when you've charging, lets say £9K a year (and a £2,500 "founders fee" ) for , the Tunnel Club then to argue that the club is not like that , is probably ridiculous. But its far far more nuanced than that and the charges shared on here that its no longer interested in season ticket holders, "mak(ing) money for the suits is all that matters" and we're just the same as everyone else - we're not - is a good line but doesn't - even if you need an Amex Card to get upstairs at the Terrace - hold up.I don't think its unfair to suggest we are also travelling down a more corporate route though, some additions to the ground have things like an Amex exclusive zone, we're not the worst, and its a league wide problem, but its here at Brighton like anyone else.

We received £149 million in TV monehly this season, the idea that we need another hospitality area in the North Stand of all places, is hilarious to anyone who doesn't realise that the Prawn Sandwich Brigade is one of the main reasons atmosphere is dead at most grounds now, Including the Amex.
But of course, we NEED that money more than ever to become financially sustainable, and it's nothing to do with if we sell Baleba for £100m or £120m. Load of old guff, as per.
It won’t, not even close I’d suggest. It’ll be a very small second tier in the grand scheme, not some huge overhanging thing. And the rake of the stand is already very shallow compared to an old school ground like Loftus Road.Looks like 5 rows in the mock up. It doesn't look like the seats are going back into the north stand at all. Hard to say whether it'll be low enough to restrict being able to see the ball up in the air.
You'll find that they are apparently all those gorblimey geezers who stood in the Goldstone North Stand for fifty years, went to Gillingham etc etc and who just thought they'd pamper themselves a little bit in their later years ie push it through the books of their limited company and hope it sticks![]()
Yes. Arguing that Albion could afford to freeze season ticket prices , and that concessionary discounts should stay where they are at 25% is a charge that does stick. Given revenue.Oops I set off the Bot again.

For me it’s a case of all things to all men. The club are not standing still when it comes to maximising revenue by introducing facilities that offer fans choices. For me the Terrace, after the opening day hiccups, is great for pre and post match drinking - as my sore head will testify to after the Liverpool game! There are many who prefer the comfort of the 1901 lounges. And now, the expansion of the North Stand for those who wish to indulge in a ‘1901’ setting with all its offerings. I sit in the West Upper, that’s my choice and I absolutely love it. I would never criticise other fans for their choice - and really nor should anyone else. We are all Brighton fans, we support the team in our own way and that is the most important thing. Vive la difference and all that!I don't think its unfair to suggest we are also travelling down a more corporate route though, some additions to the ground have things like an Amex exclusive zone, we're not the worst, and its a league wide problem, but its here at Brighton like anyone else.
