Just noticed this by chance, and can't see any mention to it on here nor anywhere else.

So it may be common knowledge, and passed me by, but I suspect not...

This page - https://www.brightonandhovealbion.com/pages/en/timeline - references a home-fans-only 1901 Pub which will open for the 2026/27 season.

Anyone who enjoys looking through planning applications and the like ,have any more details?
I wonder if this is the lounge associated with the new 1901 concept (their words not mine) which is opening in the north? Barber spoke about it have a more relaxed and pub like feel than the current 1901 lounges.

Calm down everyone; it’s just another bar they’re squeezing into the stadium. There’s nothing to suggest it’s in anyway exclusive, apart from being home-fans-only.

As for the extra shelf above the north stand. I think it’ll improve the aesthetics of the end.
Thats going to be interesting. How will they exclude away fans who have been able to acquire tickets for the North Stand from entering? Easy enough with the scousers, mancs, brummies and geordies. Just make them speak. But not so simple for London / Southern clubs.

Had an email about this back in January - Tbh I thought it sounds like a great compromise for those of us like me who want the advantages of the hospitality lounges but miss the buzz of the terraces:

Phase three of our planned stadium expansion will see a new 1901 Club area added to the North Stand, boosting capacity at the Amex to 32,500 in time for the 2026/27 season.

This new hospitality area will provide a pub-like atmosphere exclusively for home fans. Alongside The Dugout, it will be one of the only 1901 Club areas where fans can proudly wear replica shirts. Specifically designed for those who want to be at the heart of the atmosphere, it will offer a unique experience for passionate supporters.”

And to INCLUDE me.

Wonderful stuff.
To be fair I think the 1901 club benefits have been waning, I don't really see it as a problem that some are, ultimately a bit like the Terrace, I don't like it but it isn't built for me, I'll just carry on going to a pub in town.

I can see the appeal of this.

The dull part of the south coast
There’s a lot wailing and gnashing of teeth already on this proposal. To be honest I’m not quite sure why. Now the Tear Arse (sorry,Terrace) is open the North Stand concourse has been empty post match. Anyway, this seems to be the classic moaners will moan scenario. The club are installing a ‘pub’ for those 1901 North Stand members in the concourse - at least that’s how I’m reading it. Still not long now to the annual whinge fest that we all look forward to, yes, the new kit for 25/26 season. Rejoice! :drink:

That doesn't mention home fans only, so could I attend wearing a Fulham shirt with my many Albion mates wearing their Albion shirts?

Hostesses, free tea, dining options all ruthlessly ripped from my lounge.

Tho it does mention, nay, specifies, 'exclusively for home fans' in that quote you, uh, quoted
:wozza:
I’m not sure that the new shelf and hospitality area in the north stand is the same as the 1901 pub that he linked to. It’s not clear, but the latter sounds more like another bar that you don’t need to go through the turnstiles to access, a bit like Dicks.

'Come and witness the great uncouth unwashed of the North Stand, so close that you can almost smell them. Be a part of it! And apart from it!'
This is EXACTLY what I'm looking for, and why I am going to try and move there from the West 1901 tier.

Another excuse to muffle any noise coming from the back of the North where the singers are.

I wonder how many other clubs have expanded their home 'kop' with a corporate area. Absolute knobfest. Oh no wait, this lot are exclusively allowed to wear a £65 replica shirt.

What a load of old bollocks football has become.
Couldn't disagree more, I think it's a great idea. There are plenty of people in the current 1901 such as myself who want a nice view and a decent seat and somewhere warm and dry to have a beer before / after the game, who find the people around them old, stuffy and silent. I'd rather be somewhere with an atmosphere, and would definitely contribute to it, but that sort of thing is frowned upon up there. If the North can't be extended with another proper tier then this is a way of getting a few more hundred voices in there while generating some decent revenue for the club. It's win/win.

So the home end, more affordable area for the more rowdy element of our support is saturated by the wealthy who want the best of both worlds. They want the luxury of 1901 but realise the atmosphere is shit so have to lord it over the plebs instead. Wonderful news.
