An Enterprise Car Club van was involved in an incident with my Daughters new car Tuesday (1st) evening. Whilst it's all captured on dash cam, both front & rear, the bright evening sun hides the full registration.
So a question. Who is responsible? Enterprise whose van it is or the driver who failed to stop? Obviously Enterprise will see a huge scratch down the side of the van when it is returned but will they just charge the driver?
It's in the hands of the police (useless), daughters insurance plus Enterprise have been informed.
Meanwhile anyone out and about today who sees a dark coloured Enterprise van parked up with a big scratch/dent over the drivers rear wheel, give me a shout please.

Update. We managed to get the reg. Enterprise had no option but admit liability. They were good about it, so far.

Well that’s saved me a trip down to conway street where i believe there is a car club van parked, i hope the driver gets done for failing to stop and gets fined and points too

I think you will be fine. I used to hire from Enterprise a lot and they are covered as they pass everythng onto the driver.....as I have found out a few times from a carpark accident and a ticket I got.

Yes thanks. But her first 'big car', cost her £12,000 6 weeks ago. The language on the dash cam is a bit wild mind.

So been on the phone with Enterprise who say the driver has denied any liability. Someone hit him. I wont put the picture of him on here, but if it's you, well await a call from the police. Failing to stop after an accident is a criminal offence.
Meanwhile we have to wait for an internal review from Enterprise. Quite how they can deny a video of a van with no scratch on it passing a stationary car, which then shakes as it is hit, and a further rear video of van driving away with a scratch/dent on it.
And the police haven't got back to us so maybe not a knock at the door for the driver.

Yes. Whilst initially they had admitted the van had a scratch/dent and was out on hire at that time, they have now said the driver has told them he did not cause the damage. Not sure if he says damage was done before or after his short hire time.
You only need to look at the above photo to see he is telling a massive lie.

Well first, you have already put the driver's picture on here. He is clearly visible on the dashcam. Secondly, your daughter's insurers should pursue the £400 excess from the guilty party in due course.

Sussex Police act exactly on that, in those circumstances. Someone did that to my brother’s motorbike. No one was hurt, but my brother reported the driver …. who denied it all. Later convicted (at Brighton magistrates I think).

Recovering the excess. If it comes to it, did your daughter add legal expenses cover to the policy?

Have Enterprise seen the dashcam footage?

This, if they see the damage then not sure how they can accept the driver's version of events and their insurers should cough up for repairs and hire costs your daughter incurs whilst the car is repaired. Her insurers will always state what the excess is but if they pursue a claim against Enterprise and get back their outlay they should also recover the excess for your daughter.
