It lost all credibility after the fall of Blatter and cronies. That is without mentioning the rabble from Russia violence.

Although TBF he came across as being a lot more competent than Corbyn and didn't appear to be hamstrung by old associations.

A lot of these Eastern European Ultras have links to dodgy Russian politicians so there's no appetite to clamp down on it and right now Putin is leading the way in stirring up aggressive Slavic nationalism. It could be a bloodbath especially for English fans.

Fair point and the right-wing press found it hard to pin dirt on him. I wonder if he might have snatched the nomination if he had just described himself as a social democrat rather than socialist and I don't think Sanders would have been misleading people either. I see a lot of similarities with Michael Dukakis who stood against Bush Snr on a similar lefy-wing manifesto to Sanders. Recently Dukakis stated that he didn't think Sanders was a socialist in anything like the traditional sense and he wasn't at all like European socialists, Dukakis reckoned that Sanders was more like a British Lib Dem.

10 days and the world will take one of two very different paths. Clinton is all about regime change and is complicit in the mess we see in Libya and Syria today. Trump is all about building a Mexican wall. I prefer an America that doesn't meddle, plot and double deal in the Middle East.

You won't really see a world war 3 as let's be honest as everyone will gang up on Russia...The yanks won't do it alone and deep down they want a European army that can deal with Russia as been mentioned in the past.

There's more chance but still very unlikely. More chance purely because Putin want's Trump to win.
But the book wasn't thrown at Petraeus - he got off incredibly lightly. That's exactly why HRC got off scot-free, having failed to dish out any serious punishment to Peraeus. who had admitted not just misusing emails but passing on classified information to a third party. He should have faced years in jail but got off with a slapped wrist.
Having let Petraeus off, the authorities could then scarcely pursue Clinton for less serious offences.
It does make you wonder what would have happened if the Washington prosecutors had the balls to go after him; she would have been very lucky to escape
Perhaps a rewind of priorities is needed then. Honest governance, national, local (state), county and region and the bugs come to light!

I wouldn't call a two-year suspended sentence and a 6 figure fine that was twice as big as that the prosecutors had in mind as a slapped wrist but I take your point. I almost have to admire HRC's blatant obfuscation and her claims of ignorance. Talk about brassneck.
It was two years probation, not suspended sentence but, yes, slapped wrist isn't the right description but it was incredibly lenient. There's a good account in the Washington Post. But you can see why HRC thought she could brazen it out

I actually think ww3 is more likely with Clinton who is already gearing up the rhetoric for more aggression in Syria and was a major player in the military disaster in destabilising Libya. She is a lunatic only likely to win the election because she up against an even bigger lunatic. Very sad times.

America is clearly the biggest problem facing the world yes, but it's like going to secondary school and the biggest bully in the school being your big brother or cousin. We can moan about them behind their back to our Euro mates but we're in quite a privaledged position globaly. That said the biggest bully doesn't start the significant fights, they just go around leaning on little people...... the truely dangerous ones are those dicks who want to be top dog and strut about the place being bellends and getting given the World Cup puts one of those center stage...... it really could go one of two ways but I expect we can all predict which

It does make you wonder what would have occurred had a decent Republican candidate emerged. All those on the primary ballots had flaws. But someone like Ryan didn't feel the need to stand.
