Greg Dyke is a timeserving public sector lefty who has recided over the decline in standards of journalism and impartiality when at the BBC. Someone who is used to barking leftwing ephits and catchphrases and being Kowtowed to.

Being from a background that avoids beaurocratic dictates and questions a culture of politicaly spoonfed yes men, the proposition that he is politic posturing is a reasonable one. As is the assumption he is wrongly alluding to demographics. Now I dont have a theory of his weird pronouncement, as you are defending it I was hoping you would explain it.

Greg Dyke has spent most of his career (very successfully) in the private sector.

He was only at the BBC for 4 years.

In terms of the industry he is as far removed from being a time serving public sector lefty as I can imagine.

What an odd argument.

86% of the uk population is white according to the 2011 census, 5% down on 10 years ago. If the pattern continues it wil be 81% in 6 years time. That's 1 in 5 not white, so if he wants to represent the community if the UK in years to come he should have at least 20% non white.
As for the ridiculous sexist comment about women I won't even warrant it a response.

In my opinion Greg Dyke's statement is fashionably paying lip service to a politically correct agenda. I doubt he'd even give it a second thought and I doubt it was even his idea.
Given that I don't buy in to all this modern, seen to be all-inclusive, carey sharey rubbish I don't see why I should post a pic for balance even though you did ask very nicely.
However I did string one together (out of curiosity but not duty) but it was too horrendous to show. So in the same vein as Japanese porn I've blurred the ugly bits.

A member of my family is a tribunal chairman and deals with discrimination and unfair dismissals. Many cases involve women being paid less for an exact role that a man is paid more.
