Thanks for correcting my reference to Foray585. I quickly typed that post off the top of my head from faded recollection.

I don't claim to be an expert in such things but it's possible they re-used the company registration (probably saved some cost somewhere). Possibly because one person involved back then is still involved today.

Foray 585 was an off-the-shelf company set up by Bill Archer. The act of taking over that company was the act of taking over Brighton & Hove Albion.

By the time the then Department for Trade & Industry’s CEDR resolved the Knight/Archer talks, it was agreed Knight would own 49.5% of the company, Archer 49.5% and Martin Perry (then of McAlpine) 1%. Since then, of course, others have come in and taken shares in return for ‘investment’, and Bill Archer was effectively bought out for £700,000.

One of the first things that happened very quickly once Bill Archer finally signed the company transfer (I say ‘finally’ - he agreed the deal in April, but didn’t sign until September) was that David Bellotti was fired, and was offered no help in clearing his office. Someone once told me he asked for a couple of days to clear his stuff out, and Knight refused, though that could be just an apocryphal tale.

I'm no fan of Archer but where is there any evidence other than suposition that he got a kickback from Chartwell? Surely by now someone would have looked into that and found more evidence. If' he had taken a kickback then he would have risked far more. It would make no sense.

I really don't believe someone as financially shrewd as Archer would've been willing to take a 699,943.75 (guess the figure I've subtracted off...) loss on any business. He seems to have a knack of knowing when to take his money out (Wickes as an example). This makes people believe he got a kickback from the resale. Yes it's only supposition, but as TLO pointed out, it's something that will never be proved or disproved, unfortunately.

Sir 'albion', out of interest, what are your opinions on De Vecchi, Cuttress and the rest of the LDC/FPC crew?
De vecchi have great handbags and thats what many on here need for eachother;)

Not goner bore myself by replying to many on here and also im not winding people up on this matter.I stated clearly that if you idiots want to spend year after year moping about the past then so be it.I was pointing out that you simply are on here cursing these twats archer and bellotti and what do you actually get back to make yourself feel better????

Yes absolutley nout as predicted, you can moan about them for 50 years+ but it won't make you feel better will it?

Obviously most of you get satisfaction from just saying you hate them and despise them bla bla bla bla bla bla,now from a personal point of view if i had these grudges i would have to do something about it,so wether its murder or another way i would probably do it if i was that angry.

so to conclude this matter you are winding yourselves up about nothing because there is nothing you can do about it,so why give these idiots that satisfaction?

Everyone knows what they did but nobody can do anything to take the pain and reality away:shrug:

I stated clearly that if you idiots want to spend year after year moping about the past then so be it.

I'll remember the past and what those two individuals (Archer and STANLEY, not Bellotti - did you not read my earlier post about him?) did to the Club.

'Mope' - no. 'Idiots' - that's your opinion. My opinion is that you're slightly deluded but I don't see how that's relevant.

all this 'never forget' stuff - but recently /hasdoes anybody ever do anything to tell him that they think he's a ****. Avoiding his businesses does f. all as far as he is concerned. If you really are that hung up on it then the only thing to do is act. If you have done nothing then deep down i do not think you truly harbour that much resentment. In fact you may well have gotten over it.

BTW, before i get slated, I have.

Tell all...

Yup, Chartwell made a huge profit within 12 months. The allegation is that Archer then got a kickback from them.

It would have made far more sense for him to have sold the ground for £25 million and paid himself a huge dividend though, as that way he would have kept all the profit.

Questions should be asked about who the club were using as their advisors when agreeing a price with Chartwell, and why were they so f***ing incompetent......[/QUOTE]

I`m sorry i dont know.
