According to a source who is a well known phone-in regular by his appearances on the phone-in, it could be the last season for Harty's phone-in
I would sooner that we signed Gary Hart on a reasonable wage as cover rather than Darren Currie on an over self valued wage.
Cover for what ? What does Hart bring to the table these days other than toil and endeavour ? Look, he's been a great servant to the club, nobody would question that. But as a forward he's a busted flush. He's never looked comfortable at fullback because he's prone to diving in, tackling is not one of his assets. On the wing he no longer has the pace, and he doesn't have Curries passing range or creativity to make up for it.
So we give Hart another year. WHERE does he play ?
Even with his lack of pace Gary Hart is faster than Currie, he puts in more effort than Currie, tackles more than Currie, could be used as a sub in many positions unlike Currie, and can still cross a good ball, granted not as good as Currie but we are talking about a man as cover not as a first choice start every game. I think that OGH fits the bill better for our needs than Currie.
Do we KNOW for sure those players haven't gone to Ireland?
We've got plenty of players who can run around a lot and tackle, BG.
What we HAVN'T got is someone who can chip a ball through a toilet seat from 60 yards.
Livermore? Thomson?
I've not seen Livermore yet. But I've hardly been BLINDED by Thomsons range of passing so far. He's more of a grafter, which is fine as well. Its all about having options.
