Thought H block were generally shit as usual yesterday. There was a fair amount of noise generated when we were pushing for the winner, but that was true of the whole stadium. Surely the point of a singing stand is that all the supposedly enthusiastic singers are clumped together in order to create an atmosphere even when the team aren't creating one.

Always amazes me how, even when standing up, you'll hear a couple of songs in the singing stand which about 5 people are joining in with - surely as someone in the singing stand you should be willing to join in, especially when the initial effprt of actually getting a song started has already been done!

Under your skin.
In fairness, a lot of the shit they come out with needs to stop. Can't remember the last time I genuinely heard a witty chant from ANY set of Brighton supporters.

P'boro... Nightmare on London Road?

I'd like to claim all the credit as it was my 1st gamne in H block...... but i wasn't really loud.

I was sat next to a couple of youngsters who constantly moaned about Batti & Barnes. i thought it was the law that you should have to suffer Albion for at least 15 years before earning the right to moan>

Exactly. Very easy to moan about how quiet it is. Very easy to moan about the lack of original songs. Yet these will be the people who do nothing about it.

I agree with this to an extent, but I think it misses the point that if you opt to sit in H block you are suggesting you fit into the category of 'singer'. Furthermore, you are supposedly surrounded by other likeminded singers which should make songs a lot easier. I understand all the problems with Withdean, but I can't help feeling that even with this in mind the singing stand makes a thoroughly pathetic effort, and that most of the people who class themselves 'singers' in that stand are nothing of the sort.

So I don't get it...do you sit in H block? Or do you just like to moan about everyone else who does sit there?

So where are the singers then? The atmosphere at Charlton/Peterborough was excellent. However, it remains pretty poor at Withdean for many different reasons. The point of my original post was that it wasn't bad yesterday. It certainly wasn't a pathetic effort at all in the 2nd half. You say most people there who class themselves as singers are nothing of the sort. Tell me - what does make a "singer" at football matches and are you one yourself? Or do you just not bother because it's Withdean and it has always been quiet?
