You have to be in the right mind set for crytic crosswords. Once you are in the "zone", you can rattle through them quite quickly. Well that's what I find anyway.

For what it's worth the Daily Mirror cryptic is quite easy and a good way to get started and you can do it online.

I'll start you with a classic example. You have to think literally.

When I think clasic examples of crossword clues, I think:

gseg (9,4)

Oh ok, think I'll stick with "Take a Break"

I wouldn't. I did one of those recently, the first clue I answered was my first name, the second was my last name. Creeped me the hell out.
