Grim News About Saturday's Referee

Nov 12, 2003

I know I caan get a bit wound up about refs ( Prosser, D'Urso etc ) but it looks like we've got a shocker on Saturday.

It's a guy called Fred Graham and it's his first season on the FL list. Furthermore, every game he's done so far has been in Divs 1 and 2.

Check him out on the google screen ' rate the ref '.
Click on ref lists and on his name and it will bring up the games he has reffed so far this season. People can email in with scores out of 5 for 7 different categories ( so max 35 ) and add comments. Click on the 'i' before any game to see the comments and check out those from the Chesterfield v Hull game this week. The guy sounds like a clown. Check out the comments on some of the many other games where he got poor marks - in particular about the goal that Swansea scored against Kidderminster.

I sense there will be a lot of frustration on and off the pitch and I just hope that McGhee is aware of this and tells the players to be careful, otherwise we could cop a lot of yellow and red cards.

You have been warned.

hey hang about give the guy some credit. DCLD's he's a f***ing football league referee for christ sake...
a lot better than you so give him a break how can you tell if he's a shocker because i can tell you, you wouldnt stand in front of 7,000 people and be slated all afternoon. Its his first season and to be honest he must be good to be refereeing Division 1. Thats level 2 on the refereeing scale and there is only 2 referees of that standard in sussex. Give the guy a chance. :shootself :censored:  :censored: :tosser: :salute:

Personally I put referees up there with traffic wardens, nightclub doormen, car clampers, special constables.

They love their moment of authority.

Yes I know we need referees, & Colina's the business, but there's so many twats. The premiershite ones think they're stars!

I haven't forgotten Bennett's woeful performance at Pompey the season before last. Graham Poll fookin' loves himself.

Top prize for complete twat goes to an ex-ref, Jeff Winter. What a muppett! Dresses like a chav & tries to give a serious opinion. :lolol:

I'd say they love football and being a part of it.

When I ref'd I just enjoyed the exercise and the football (some of the kids stuff is pretty impressive).

Not good enough to play but can still get involved.

At the end of the day though I don't exactly have the thickest skin and I couldn't be arsed getting abuse because I made a small error (such as a throw in) during a kids game. Some of the adults get so wound up its pathetic.

Different when supporting the Albion though. They're all useless cheating bastards. :lolol:

Exactly the problem. They were usually some of the worst at school who turned to refreeing to stay involved. However as they weren't good enough they don't understand what goes on, the tricks, the cons etc.

Most of them are too fussy and read the letter of the law rather than the spirit of the game.

I will give this guy a chance tomorrow but if he's shit after 30 seconds he will get it. :censored: :censored: :lolol: :lolol: :lolol: :lolol:

WSU, just below the seagull.
I thought the referee today was good, considering it was his first championship game.

He's one of the best i've seen at Withdean this year.

Got the sending off spot on.

Well done fella

Agreed. I couldn't fault him. One of the linos was a bit slow though.
