On a slightly different topic, and I apologise in advance for my interjection though I am genuinely interested to hear your present clarification, are you still in agreement with this Labour Government allowing arms sales licenses to Israel for the purpose of "defending" itself?

@Zeberdi and in response to your underhand reply and waffle on the now closed Israel/Iran thread, deflecting and avoiding the question, I wonder if you might answer with your current position on the third time of asking.

My question to you on that thread, as here, is not trolling, or a personal attack, simply asking you a question for your clarification.

I have never claimed that you were pro Netenyahu or for the bombing of Gaza, or lied about you.

What I have stated is that whilst early in the conflict and after attacks by Hamas of October 7th I agree you were vociferously against Natenyahu policies and speaking up for / empathetic to the Palestinian cause and have continued to do so. (and against Tory policies)

However, several months further into the conflict and also into the new Labour Government (and after continued obliteration of Gaza) you stated that you were not against ALL UK arms sales to Israel as it had the right to defend itself. Many people have been campaigning for an end to all arms sales to Israel in an effort to bring extra pressure on its Government from the UK, though at that time you were more aligned with Labour front bench policy.

So regardless of any previous differences, I simply ask you for the third time, do you still align yourself with Labour front bench policy in allowing arms sales to Israel (to "defend itself" whatever you think that may be)

I think it's a pretty straight forward question that only requires a straight forward answer.

Bozza has literally just locked a thread on the topic of the role of Israel in the conflict in Gaza and here you are trying to stir it up on yet another unrelated thread and not for the first time.

Yes it’s deliberately trolling to pursue the same poster for months on end with this same question across multiple threads.. Especially as the original thread is now deleted so people cant fact check the original context of my comment and what you are trying to turn it into (accusing me of what exactly? Supporting genocide?!).

You know I am Jewish and you know I voted Labour, stop trying to make that into something it is not.

FOR THE LAST TIME

I have NEVER said on ANY thread that Israel has a ‘right to defend itself’ as a justification for the disproportionate and devastating attacks on Gaza which has been obvious to everyone reading my posts over the past few years.

Of course Israel has a right to defend itself IN PRINCIPLE like every other sovereign state under attack (as do the people of Gaza) but I have said until I am blue in the face that imo what is going on in Gaza is not ‘defence’ and completely disproportionate and arguably genocide.

No I do not believe in leaving Israel completely incapable of defending itself any more than any nation which it would be if the UK and US stopped ALL military exports/materials including the iron dome and early warning technology:

I do not agree with what Israel is doing to the civilian population in Gaza - it’s horrific as were the deaths on 7/10/23 so stop playing your silly games and behaving as this was an inquisitorial trial conducted by first graders trying to ’catch me out’.

Sorry if you can’t accept that I voted for a party that dragged its heels over Gaza but I did NOT as you well know.

End off.

Israel called it out for what it was: 'a selfie yacht' :clap2:

This really isn't the 'win' you think it is.

This yacht wheeze was very, very obviously designed to raise awareness, via media and obviously social media - of the horrors that the illegal aid blockade of Gaza is inflicting.

They never pretended it was anything other than that - hence carrying only a 'symbolic' amount of aid.

Israel's sneering description - doesn't 'call out' anything, that wasn't intended by the protesters themselves  Rather than being in any way amusing or belittling, it just shows how unaware (and frankly a bit thick) the Israeli spokesperson responsible, is.

Exactly which bit of that awful human tragedy needed any more awareness raising? Israeli spokesman called it right by calling it what it was. Maybe if they want to provoke some constructive debate next time, maybe leave their passports at home and try and cross the Channel for a small boat selfie

I'm glad there are people like Greta, this was a very brave act and not without risks. At the very least, she cares enough to actually do something. Her parents should be very proud of her (I am not being ironic).
Yep totally agree, incredible young lady, as they say those that can do, those that can’t talk about it on social media 😉

Not quite a fair application of an old meme.

Talking about it on social media has its merits - the amount of misinformation surrounding this issue has been extraordinary - social
media is both a curse and a godsend. Social media allows some of us to try and get the facts out there and even challenge MSM views.

Personally I am too old to jump into boats for a cause now or take direct action 😊 - I did my share when I was Greta’s age and throughout my 30s.

Plucky young lady and the more people like her are in the face of world leaders the better imo.

And still you don't answer my question.
