Brain Surgeon
The Guardian were saying today that Flintoff and Pietersen do not get on, which is an issue.
Also Agnew did say last night that after this emergency meeting by the ECB, the solution may be that Moores and Pietersen both go.
I thought that Harmison's comments yesterday sounded like a man who didn't really mind which way it goes, which would back up the idea of a rift between Flintoff and Pietersen, and certainly not Pietersen's version of events where all of the players are against Moores.
In terms of the team, I agree that Monty hasn't come on as hoped. However, he does bowl generally pretty well in this country, so he's worth keeping in for the Ashes. I think it would be a massive step asking Rashid to come in as the only specialist spinner and bowl at the Aussies, even weakened as they are. Someone suggested that Rashid may play in the Windies as a lower order batsman, and bowl a bit as required alongside a main spinner. On current form I'd go for Swann above Monty in that role, but I don't think the selectors will agree.
