Was sitting in front of me on the train this morning. Saw I was wearing a Brighton scarf and gave me a nod of acknowledgement and a have a good day when he got off at London Bridge. Polite and understated but respectful of a fan.

Also had a good look at Smellhurst when we went past it......

you're supposed to store up a great big turd and flush that as you're passing Selhurst

do the shitters on trains still empty onto the lines? I guess not, I'm sure they did back in the day

Interesting how the times have changed. I've read a number of threads on here stating that playrs like Greer and Noone either said hello or stopped to chat/sign autographs/photos etc what 'top blokes' they are. Fair play. But, go back a few years and players were only 'top blokes' because they were spotted in a bar and the poster subsequently drunk 15 pints of lager with them. Johnny Byrne, Fozzie and that Keeley chap spring to mind.

This said, with REMF 11 around the corner we will no doubt soon hear about Ward and Marlowe's talent for consumption. Rumour has it Ward might even get a round in this year.

Yeah and we'll merge with Palace. Oh god, is it really that time of year. I'll happily donate 30 quid if we can keep the Ward adulation to one thread.

Was happily reading about our Captain when Ward and 'buy a round' was mentioned in the same sentence.

Is he at Barnsley next weekend? I'll get him to buy a round

Had probably my favourite sozzling ever with Byrne. A tremendous fellow, liver the size of a bungalow. Made some very coherent arguments as to why Wendy shouldn't have been sacked. I, being a bit of a prick, repeatedly suggested Micky Adams was the resurrection in between lots of shrugging

When I was a teenager in the North stand in the early 90's Peter Ward was almost a mythical figure... someone who was a legend at the Albion, but I had never seen play and was never seen on TV as a commentator or pundit. He was like a silver glimmering unicorn of a footballer.

Nowadays he's always f***ing over. Playing pool, being a match guest every five minutes, and generally just getting his face in all sorts of photo's. He's gone from being a mythical unicorn to being just another face. And to top it off, he's going bald and he's got a stupid tash.

Shattered my illusions.
