There was no way that the club could have kept two egotists that's for sure. Can't help but think we kept the wrong one though. I would have been far happier waving bye bye to Barber and keeping gus.

You might have been however the man who bankrolls the club wasn't.

Why don't we all just hit the middle ground.
yes he done a very good job , and yes he was a ego bellended prick.

So therefore he's a wanker that did a good job at both .

He's the equivalent of a great shag who doesn't respect you in the morning, but what a NIGHT.

yes he done an average sort of job, with very strong squads, in a "look at me aren't I clever?" sort of way, and yes he was a ego bellended prick.

Agreed.

Disagree completely with people who think he would have got us promoted if he stayed. Our squad has only got worse since he left and that is down to Burke's ineptitude. Even last season under Oscar (who I think is a better manager than Gus btw) we were bailed out by the goals of Ulloa.

We would never know as the squad wouldn't have been decimated both summers because Gus would've been in charge of the retained list and not Burke. That's been the main reason we've got worse each season, not having a manager in place to say who should stay and who should be let go. Thanks to Burke's ineptitude, as you say, we've been left with dog turd.

I was always undecided. If he was really good he would stopped Sunderland getting relegated.

Nostalgia is rarely a key ingredient for progress, so for all the adulation i felt for his time with us, the joyous and emotional memories of it never to be deleted, i'd have us not go back. We fitted then and grew together, but are unlikely to now. There are others who can take the mantle and move us forwards, even if it's at a slower and less explosive pace.

Evidently. I also feel that given Gus' behaviour in the period that followed Barber's arrival Bloom was eventually left little option. However, if Gus had been backed rather than Barber when the problems started it would have been very very different. Gus became pretty unmanageable post Barber's arrival when his project was taken away from him. The whole feel of this club is incredibly different to how it was pre Barber; it is a different club entirely in my opinion and certainly not for the better.

Whilst Gus was/is egotistical that is not unusual in managers and some might say it's an integral part of being a successful manager, it certainly isn't unusual. The same doesn't work for CEO's but......

Must admit it's good that we don't have to have all that tedium anymore.

It wasn't Gus' project, it was Tony Bloom's. It wasn't Gus' money funding the project, it was Tony Bloom's.

Christ you get some right pricks on here:nono:
I Facking hate poyet and never liked him here as he's an egotistical **** who did nothing but disrespect our club, yes our club and Facked up our chances against palace with his shite tactics and turning up late.
His football was turgid and boring most of the time and he just wanted more money to spend in which was more important than the club's financial state to him.

How any facker could want that cretin back here is beyond belief and if you do then you're a gus supporter not a brighton supporter...FACT:censored:

Please post the proof that backs up your statement of fact.

Thanks!

All I want from a manager is to be totally committed to my club. That doesn't mean holding clandestine meetings with a rival club, in the same division, whilst the season is approaching its critical phase. That doesn't mean giving said club every indication that you would be prepared to leave your current position and join them. That doesn't mean returning to your current employer and revealing the offer on the table from the rival and indicating that an improvement in terms was now expected.
Whatever Gus achieved at our club, those actions were unforgiveable.
