I would but Brits are not allowed to give blood in the States if they were in the UK between 1980 and 1996 because of Mad Cow disease.

When im in the UK I do.

A bit of a surprise, on the donation forms they can be dead funny about donations from those who have been abroad... not just Mombasa either

I always found it difficult to bring myself to do this due to my fear of needles but my manager finally persuaded me in January of this year as the blood vans come to our workplace 3 times a year.. It's not the most comfortable experience but I'm pleased I did it and gave again in May. Have booked again to give in September as I feel it's a very worthwhile thing to do and who knows if I one day might need blood.

Me. Couldn't donate for six months after getting back from India, but back on the roll now.

They do ask, and for example last time I did it, they asked if I had been to Italy, which I hadn't.

So sometimes if they has been a thing in a perticular country they won't let you do it. I was fine though.

Yes, coming up to thirty donations, it is such an easy thing to do, you are essentially lying down for 20 minutes and you never know when friends or relations may need blood so why wouldn't you do it? ???

I do ignore the 'and don't have anything to drink this evening' advice they invariably give you after you have donated as it just means you need less pop to make you drop...

I did until they had such a hard job of it one time that my arm became badly bruised and I was unable to use my right arm much :)eek:) for a couple of days after. Keep meaning to go back, it would be nice to have some stored away as it's the only type I can have
