I got chased into someone’s house at Gillingham where they were just saying goodbye to friends …. The owners sat us down and made a pot of tea and we finished the sandwiches…… that was 74 though.November 1987 was mental - I remember, must have been around 100 of us getting off the train at Gillingham station and literally steaming down the High street opposite letting off rook scarer bangers and people attacking anyone that looked fair game.
Police rounded up most of us and held us in a police station yard for a couple of hours and escorted us to the ground just in time for kick off.
Remember a few Brighton were in their enclosure next to us and kicked off with the locals.
After the game I recall their lot luzzing milk bottles at us and lots of punches being exchanged.
Crazy season for me as a young impressionable 16 year old !!
