Getting the words mixed up

I reckon this the most misspelled word on NSC - in terms of percentage anyway. My guess is this is wrong 99% of the time

The one I've seen a few times recently is muted for mooted

One that's come up again on the Farage thread is "prey tell me" for "pray, tell me". Makes no sense at all.

The recent increase (almost to the point of it being acceptable) in the spelling of the word 'publicly' as 'publically'.
'Alot' or 'allot' instead of 'a lot'. (No such word as 'alot', and 'allot' is to give or apportion something to someone.)

Other things that I often see:
The use of significant when something ISN'T significant.
Spaces before a full stop, exclamation mark or comma.
Random apostrophes when the word doesn't need won

There seems to be confusion, or lack of knowledge, of some words and witch/which is correct.

There/their/they're are of course the common examples, but recently I have noticed people using mute instead of moot quite a lot.

I'm sure there are many other examples.

I do sometimes find myself thinking that there should be more mute points on here
