what i driving at is the boring "the tories would have done xyz" rubbish. when in power people act differently. Cameron/Osborne would have acted in the same way most likley as Brown/Darling in the given event. how or whether they got there is really whats important but even then who can really say. point is Brown/Darling did get us to that point.

I am not sure they would have, they would have certainly looked at other scenario's based upon their own moral, ethics, policies, judgement on how to run a economy.

They may well have come to the same conclusion, but state intervention in the economy, nationalisation is an easy pill for Labour Politicians and supporters to swallow than for the Tories.

They may well have come to the same conclusion, but state intervention in the economy, nationalisation is an easy pill for Labour Politicians and supporters to swallow than for the Tories.

fairly put at least. i do agree the details of the responce would of been different. Labour did try the private route first themselves, asking Lloyds to bailout HBOS.
