It also seems a shame that allegedly the protesters didn't focus their efforts towards reading the book of the person they were protest against.
At university level you would hope that placards included correct citations.
Maybe that is why the university was fined.
Some years back there was a custody case that many trans activists were up in arms about because a 'trans girl' had been taken from her mother and the father given custody. With particular fury given to some uncontextualised remarks from the judge about the child choosing some boys spiderman underpants.
It seemed off to me and as I had nothing to do that day I read the actual judgement.
Long story short mother was a mental narcissist who'd kicked dad out and forced their son to be a girl. Lots of other issues over her care of child but she scared off social services complaining of trans abuse.
So already I'm thinking wtf has no one done any due diligence before launching into this.
Then the real kicker. As many will know British law is case law, and the judge stated that children have the right to explore their understanding of sexuality and gender and that preventing that can constitute abuse. An incredibly positive judgement for LGBTQ rights. Just in this case it was mum abusing her male child by not letting them be a boy.
So after less than an hour's research I spent another couple of hours responding to various activists social media and while not one said omg I'm sorry every mention of the story was deleted from their accounts by that evening.
Easily the most successful thing I've ever done on the internet.
