Unless they are doing this in full knowledge that at least one of the vaccines will be ready for distribution by the beginning of December you full know what will happen come the 2nd of December when we come out of this lockdown.

Everybody will stampede the shops in a rush to get ready for Christmas, possibly giving us a steeper rise in cases in the new year. In turn a 3rd lockdown and, combined with the standard January blues, a massive rise in suicide/mental health issues.

:lolol: Restrictions won’t be eased on the 2nd December, look how long it took cases to come down last time and that was with great weather outdoors and schools shut.

Yep! They've completely overlooked Parent A (before symptomatic), passing the virus onto Child A, going off to school and passing the virus onto Child B, C, D, E, and no doubt F, G & H. They all go home and pass it onto their family.

Everyone will be coming out into tier 3.

1. Mr Johnson was careful not to call it a lockdown - it’s called ‘tougher Autumn measures’.

2. People are not being asked to shield. Vulnerable people or those aged over 60 are just being told to be especially careful. In essence, they are saying that ‘it’s out there everywhere, shied or take your chances - it’s your choice.’

I noted that, very kind of Mr Johnson to not want to ask people to shield again, but to just be “especially careful”. What does the clown think we’ve been doing for the last 7 months!

So, at this time, basically no help for the extremely vulnerable then...

So there wasn't any new 3 word meaningless soundbite with zero substance announced tonight to tackle the crisis?

For the first time this evening I'm just starting to wonder if Johnson is actually cut out to be PM material.................

Exactly - that's why I'm asking what is the difference!

schools as noted, i think construction and office work continues too. its only hospitality, leisure and retail that has to close. there might have been something about click and collect services (so likes of argos and screw fix stay open).

its worth pointing out as this has to go through parliament, it may be up the air exactly what is open/closed until that debate is completed.

It will be extended . This Government unfortunately can’t treat us like adults and give us the full picture in one go.

It's my understanding kids football will stop until December, is that right?
We have someone who feels he will be able to keep training the kids. I can't see this is possible unless you pair up as you can do sport with one other household, but surely not altogether?

Does anyone know for sure???

Let’s hope there are more guidance or details on this to come. The stuff about shielding did seem remarkably matter-of-fact.

would assume is a no re kids football - per above elite sports only to continue

50% of the news next week will be those complaining their businesses now ruined; the other 50% will be people saying should have been done sooner - the former is the answer to the later
