Football League Attendances

The FL have just announced that attendances are up across the 3 divisions by 1.5% (200,000) on season 2010/11.

I (very roughly) estimate our increase to be just shy of 300k, therefore we are solely responsible for attendances not decreasing - despite the best attempts of CPFC to take it down.

Interestingly the Championship (9.9m) is the 4th most watched league in Europe, ahead of Serie A (7.8m) and Ligue 1 (5.6m).

:clap2: That's very impressive, although the 4th most watched statistic all depends on how you calculate it, in terms of average attendance per game I think it's lower than 4th.

I think you may have something there, whether I like it or not, BHA look like they have bumped that Average up. Looking around at most grounds I thought they all looked a lot less full last season. So well done Brighton!!

You can argue all you want about Palace attendances. ( about bums on seats and not tickets sold) but as you can see they have not dropped that badly.

2011-12 Npower League Championship 15,219
2010-11 Npower League Championship 15,351
2009-10 Coca-Cola League Championship 14,945
2008-09 Coca-Cola League Championship 15,220

That's not the actual bums on seats figure though is it?

Need to take at least 2,000 off that figure to find the ACTUAL average attendance of fans going through the turnstiles , if we counted our attendance figures in the same manner our average would be just over 22,000 with the non attending STH's included.

You've got to be careful. We don't want palace fans becoming known for being reasonable;)

Thanks. I wasn't exactly sure on the Withdean average (and didn't bother looking it up), but guessed at 7k.
